Reina - 7. Assured performance. Did well and is back to his best.
Kelly - 5. Run ragged by McClean. Needs to improve and needs to start making more forward runs
Skrtel - 3-. Had a nightmare again.
Agger - 6. Looked composed
Johnson - 8. Made plenty of forward runs and was unlucky not to get a couple.
Allen - 7. Great player. He'll be the best in the world in 2 years.
Gerrard - 9. Great balls forward, looked to make things tick. Dominated midfield. Not a single stray pass and maybe should've scored.
Shelvey - 7. Provided greart assistance to the midfield and had a couple of good chances. Will be our natural replacement for Stevie
Sterling - 9. Unbelievable talent. Made things happen every time he got the ball. He'll be a superb player for us for years to come.
Suarez - 5. Apart from the goal, he was a let down. Got himself booked for diving and should've led the attack more resposibly.
Borini - 4. Terrible player. Is he even a striker?

Downing - 2. shocking performance

MANAGER:
Rodgers - 3. Tactics are appalling. No plan B and he only made one sub which was futile.

Reina - 5 what exactly was he doing for the goal
Kelly - 8. gave mclean the hardest game he will ever have and kept him quiet..our best defender by miles,should never be dropped again
Skrtel - 3-. Had a nightmare again.

I don't know why Boroni is getting such a hard time. He did ok For me, and got a few shots on target, one that needed a good save, and looks to be getting the feel of things. It would be at different story if he got them in. I gotta feeling they'll be going in for him very soon.

i think ok borini hasnt been great but i believe if dempsey or a striker had signed borini would have been gradually brought into the team , but because of the owners messing around borini nhas had to play

Reina 7 played well maybe could have done better for the goal

Kelly 6 mclean and others did get the better of him a couple of times was decent going forward

Skrtel 5 wasnt at his best was partly at fault for the goal for me being pulled back far to easy by fletcher

Agger 7 played well and always looked to have us going forward even running it forward himself a few times

Johnson 7 was great going forward could possibly have been stronger in the tackle that led to the goal also

Allen 7 was good again but almsot all his passing seemed sideways or backwards but have been to no movement ahead of him

Shelvey 7 had a decent game snatched at a few half chances early on but looks a decent prospect and can do a job for us now

Gerrard 8 was great for me every pass he made was looking to attack was unlucky hitting the post

Sterling 8 was amazing in the second half for me went missing a bit in the first half but hes young so cant blame him

Suarez 6 gave the ball away a lot and needs to stop complaining as much as he is didnt think he dived but did go down easy at least he scored

Borini 6 didnt think he was as bad as people think at least he is getting the areas to score was unlucky a couple of times and i think he will come good but did give the ball away a lot

Downing 6 got a few decent balls in and beat his man a few times a lot better than he has been in my opinion

could have and should have won the game just need more in the final third hopefully that will come as we get better at this system

Reina 7 - Nothing to do really, looked assured but couldn't do much for the goal

Kelly 6 - agree that he wasn't as solid defensively

Skrtel 5 - Bad start to the season, hope Coates gets a chance at some point

Agger 7 - thank god we kept him, system will suit him down to a tee

Johnson 7 - Looking more and more like a winger, great going forward, hit the bar but at fault for the goal

Allen 7 - steady game, key player for years to come

Shelvey 7 - agreed, come on well this season but would like to see him on the scoresheet soon

Gerrard 8 - responded to criticsm and looked determined for the first time this season

Sterling 8 - Incredible 2nd half, hopefully he can develop his final ball and become a huge player for us

Suarez 6 - Took his goal well so good to see, tried to do too much at times

Borini 5 - Goals are coming I believe, still looks a little lost and yet to score but chances are at least coming

Downing 5 - Frustrating to watch, bad final ball

I thought Gerrard was poor again yesterday. Alot of passes to the opposition and their able to get round him to easily. Borini wasn't bad either. Still another pathetic performance we should have won but again give away a poor poor goal.

Borini did lots of really good things yesterday and also some not so great things.
On Stevie's shot, Borini drags a defender with him to open it up completely for the skipper. Very very good stuff.

Still, he needs to put the goals away, he has some good instincts in the box and I'm sure goals will come.

As for the rest of the team, Reina looked bad on the goal we conceded. Johnson played a good second half, but he was -not- good in the first and he looked downright terrible on their goal.

Allen, to me, had his worse game for us. He was nervous looking at times and generally didn't contribute as much to the forward moving game as in previous games (but some of that probably comes down to Sunderland not having the ball a whole lot, so not a whole lot of chances for Joe to switch direction)

Kelly is, in my mind, not good enough to be a starting right back for us yet, and it creates problems because we're moving Johnson over on the left, when he is so much better playing on the right.

I don't think Skrtel looked -that- bad, but he didn't look super out there. Agger got pressed away from the ball on their goal, but I think that was just exceptional poaching by Fletcher.

Skipper had a decent game, but nothing more. Suarez needs to stop trying to take on 5 defenders every position-- sometimes it's ok to just pass the ball and feed someone like Borini.

Raheem also had a fairly forgetful first half, but man he was electric in the second. Well done! Downing actually tried more yesterday after coming on, but his last touch needs to be better for sure-- would like to see him cut into the field more instead of trying to go to the line. We're not going to score that many goals from goal line crosses, I don't think.

Shelvey had an average game, too. He could have had a goal for us, mind, but then again who couldn't have.

All in all, I thought it was refreshing to see us come out after the half and dominate the game completely. That's what I was happiest about in yesterday's performance.
