The two lads from Derry consider themselves Irish, the same as many nationalists and republicans in the 6 counties do and therefore declared for the Republic of Ireland. Whether you like it or not that is there right.

Paddy McCourt and Niall McGynn declared for the North and were rewarded with death threats and bullets in the post.

You are right those fans are not racist, they are sectarian bigots and there are plenty of them in Windsor Park.

anyone fancy westwood as our new number 1. It doesnt represent my views actually. And i have never posted anything on any forum that was sectarian so im not backtracking on anything.

If those where my views then i wouldnt like Paddy McCourt, Niall McGinn or any other Roman Catholic in the Northern Ireland squad but in actual fact I do. I respect these guys for playing for their country. When we play we are Northern Irish and all the players are Northern irish, thats the way I see it, nothing else.

And I totally disapprove of anyone who sees it differently and gives abuse to any player playing for their country.

My problem is with players not playing for their country.
I know its a players right like you said but I will always have a problem with countrys taking players from other countries. I see it as cheating.
