Agree - gerrard looks really sluggish and unfit ... not so sure he's up to all the running anymore ..... but what a player and who could criticise him, but at the moment he's lost it and a stint on the bench might set him alight again.

Yep stick Gerrard on the bench for Shelvey, or even Henderson. Nobody could play much worse in his position. And maybe with a midfield of Allen, Sahin and Henderson they'll get the finger out and push on because they're not under Gerrards command. He's a poor player this season iv bin bashing on him for weeks now, just not up to it.

love stevie g, he got the be benched.
too much mistakes, his shots are terrible. stevie tried some long range effort and failed miserably. shelvey had 2 good ones in the time he was on the pitch, esp second could have been magnificent.

btw was just listening at the post match press conference, i heard br saying: we're very disappointed we GAVE the first goal away. from what i've seen, reina isnt to blame on that one. he could have saved it with luck, but nothing he could rly do. johnson made a good challenge, just unlucky i think, it could have been different.
stevie messed up his pass, lost the ball, and hit on the counter. he might get benched cause of that

Gerrard looked unintrested for most part of todays game, until when he decided to get involved thus giving the ball away for us to concede! Tbh I think SG still has something to give us this season, I would give him 2/3 games to turn it up otherwise bench him, he's talks the talk but recently not been walking the walk!
I think our problem is really reina. Yes he's a good passer and sweeper, but terrible at shot stopping and catching. When he made the save against gibbs I thought to myself knowning his luck I was suprised it didnt hit his hand and bounce in, and that precisley happened 5 minz later with cazorla.
Its only been 3 games and I'm sure rodgers see's more then us and will make the correct decision when play the absolute crucial game at sunderland in a few weeks time

i think its time gerrard realised he isn't the be all and end of this club anymore. a place on the bench will send that message clearly enough. shelvey has more fire in his belly.

As much as I love Gerrard, I do agree that his performances lately have been well underpar and maybe Shelvey should be given more of a run out in the team. Gerrard doesn't seem to fit into this style of play at the moment
