You dont know what went on in the negotiations involving Dempsey's transfer so you are guessing at what they were asking from us.
Rant all you like but ignore the fact we brought in 5 players and spent £30million. well villa had a 7m bid accepted and sky sports announced spurs 6m. whats to understand, we've got a lot off the payroll

FSG have done very well for them selfs this window.but the facts are we have been shown up to be a club with out pulling or spending power. last season we really struggled for goals, this season we are really struggling for goals.its very obvious to BR and the rest of us that we needed to invest in goals this window,we havent so we cant expect anything much this season.the game v hearts this week was the latest example of liverpool being the better side but failing to score the goals.

Surely we could have found some spare change in the sofa for Dempsey though? We'd have made back that extra £2 million in shirt sales in about 2 weeks.

whats the perspective over the dempsey fiasco. we should be charging spurs a finders fee for their summer signings.
Also: Esteban Granero to QPR for € 4,5M, Pablo Hernandez to Swansea for € 7M and Gaston Ramirez to Southampton for € 12M. What the féck? Ayre out ASAP!

We in some ways, might of done ourselves a little bit of justice by not giving in to demands. How much were we getting quoted for these players. I tell you that 12mil wasn't what we Gaston was for us. And there is a little rumour going around that Fulham wanted more from us, than they wanted from Villa and Spurs. I'm gutted that we didn't get him though. Still Drogba and Anelka might be released soon, you never know.

Spurs just had one of the best transfer windows of any club I can remember: Gylfi, Adebayor, Lloris, Dembele, Vertonghen, and Dempsey. Not a massive spending spree, but they brought in some genuine quality. There certainly shouldn't be a St. Totteringham's Day this year. I originally had them finishing outside the top 4 but now I'm not so sure. Chelsea, United, and even City have all strengthened to some degree. Hell, even Everton brought in some quality. And if Arsenal get their striker situation sorted they'll be dangerous as well. The only good thing is that Newcastle didn't really do a whole lot.

It seems like we messed up badly by failing to bring in a new striker but all this talk of FSG being 'asset strippers' seems to ignore the fact that we kept all our prized players - Skrtel, Agger and Suarez could have been sold for far more cash than we got for Adam etc. It's time for the youngsters to shine and the fans to rally around the new manager, we haven't got owners like City or Chelsea but with the Financial fair play rules due to kick in, we can be self sufficient, it will obviously mean a few more years of not being title contenders, but we rarely have been in last two decades but we will bounce back eventually just like United did after their decades in the wilderness. The club is being run more prudently now than many of our rivals
