Ok this is not a moan but just to highlight that again we perform against the top teams but following the opening game against west brom we don't perform against the lesser teams.
Until this problem gets resolved we will never get top 4 let alone win the league.
But on a positive judging from yesterday's game just goes to show we do have a squad capable of achieving a high league position.

The reason we have the same old problem is consistency. But what is consistency and how do you get it?. By having a manager who motivates and has a system and can adapt accordingly. Look at Utd consistent for 20 years now and what is the denominator? The manager. Hopefully we have that man now a LFC I hope so.

No good having the rite manager if you dont have sufficent funds, they both go hand in hand in todays game, Ferguson would'nt be where he is if he was managing in Brenda's constraints, thats why top four is out of the question until we supply the manager with serious funds.

Everton and Newcastle have no chance of fourth, I have said previously the big four are set in stone for the foreseeable for me, they have the best players or most resources in order to stay there, Chelsea and Arsenal were absolutely dreadgful last season yet Chelsea still won the biggest prize in football while Arsenal qualified ahgain comfortably, this is the gulf in class unfortunately. Newcastle are top 6 with good attacking players where there is nothing to choose between Everton and ourselves player for player, none of us will challenge the top four for me.

If you take Spurs, Newcastle and Everton they are nothing like the size of Liverpool or potentially have our transfer budget. So you can forget them. Our problem is Man City a few years ago the top 4 was set in stone now its 4 from 5. Thats our problem beating Arsenal who are the most likely one we could topple and thats going to be difficult.

Even under Hodgson we played some good stuff against top teams. That isn't Liverpool's issue. Also I didn't think the performance was any better than some of the quality stuff we played under dalglish. We certainly created less chances. That sounds doom and gloom, but im still happy with the performance, everything looks good, Sterling and Allen great to have and so young, looking forward to seeing the progression.

Just compare the signings Hodgson and BR have made at the start of Liverpool careers as manager Hodgson Konchesky Poulson BR Sahin Allen Assaidi I think that tells you the major differences between BR and Hodgson and for the life of me I can't remember any Hodgson team playing free flowing passing football as we did yesterday vs Man City
