I found some of the reaction to the west Brom defeat after a single game when we were down to 10 men surreal. So I thought to capture some positive thoughts they are in short supply admittedly but they can be found.
Here’s a few.
1 – We know Gerrard and Lucas are very good players they won’t play that badly too many times this season. Same could be said for Agger, Skirtel and Kelly.
2 – The performance of Joe Allen.
3 – Reina seems to be getting his form back.
4 – Both our main rivals for fourth spot Arsenal and spurs also slipped up.
5 – It showed clearly our failings up front hopefully this will be rectified by pipeline transfers before end of August possibly Dempsey among them who would fit in well with our system.
6- For the first 30 minutes on Saturday the passing game Rodgers is trying to introduce was apparent just the players need to fine tune which you would expect at this stage.
7 – Not enough for me but at least FSG are now hands on rather than the hands off last two years when the club was allowed to drift. Small encouragement here but it exists be thankful for that.
8 – Rodgers has correctly identified Adam, Henderson and probably Carroll are not good enough for LFC and nor do they fit into his system. They will not be missed. Downing may also soon join that list.
