I've been going the game since 76, home and away, ST holder the works. Yesterdays game was the first I've ever watched without any emotional involvement. I even watched MOTD last night, 1st time I ever watched it when we've lost. The reasons for my falling out of love with the club and premier league football in general are simple, I haven't got over the sacking of Kenny yet, Premier league football in general is [oops]. The whole set up stinks to high heaven. But to sack Kenny so we would hopefully get an easier ride from the media was the straw that broke the camels back.
Watching the game yesterday as a neutral (still can't believe I'm typing that)the thing that was most apparent about Liverpools play was the lack of any leadership or fight. Bob Paisley used to say, if your in fog, you stick together that way you don't get lost. Well the reds looked lost yesterday.
There's been that much upheaval at the club, Carras played for about 6 managers and 3 different loads of owners, that I'm not sure If anyone at the club actually knows what's going on. . Now I notice a lot of you have the reds down as finishing between 5th and 10th in the league but when a club has so much inner turmoil that we've had over the last 3 or 4 years added to such a lack of fight within the squad, makes me think your being optimistic. I wouldn't be surprised to see the reds well in the bottom half of the table come next may.
Sorry my first thread is such a [oops] one.

I can see your point. i think the fact we appointed br and not a big name proves how far we have fallen. while we watched borini and allen make their debuts chelsea just watched hazard and oscar. it is quite depressing and i honestly think its going to be a long hard season. br seems obsessed with passing. barce pass forward we pass backwards. oh and why is.reina still in goal?

Reina is in goal because he is one of the best keepers in the world. Any goal keeper will be hard pushed to keep clean sheets when being exposed by his defence.

I think there are two reasons for tempered optimisim. Firstly we might have a decent manager in charge the first since Rafa before he went pear shaped. Whether you believe that is personal opinions I believe it. Second and perhaps the main one is FSG can no longer muck about unless we get the club in the champions league next two seasons we will be likely out in perpetuity and Henry would lose hundreds of millions in capital losses and opportunity costs. He can't and won't let that happen unless he is a useless businessman which I suspect he is not.
IF YOU WANT TO BE HEARD SPEAK SOFTLY - BOB PAISLEY

The WBA result was real bad luck for the first 2 goals, we had good spells of passing and pressing, but give credit to WB they wer very organized defensively and committed , even the established top table teams would have had a difficult day.
The problem for me was after conceding, the team lost shape and fight, Gerard can't be relied on as the leader, what sort of example was that? give Lucas the armband

We will have many more days like this through the season and if we dont sign an out n out finisher we will have more downs than ups this season. This is getting quite critical! I dont want to accept mid table mediocrity but once we fall in this trap it will be even harder to climb out. FSG need to realise this before it is too late. Invest now or we will be stuck in limbo after the fair play rules kick in. I know we will improve but honestly when we get the usual injuries/suspensions over a season we could be had by any EPL team. A few years ago I could sit and honestly say we will win the next game or the one after!!! Now I honestly believe we can be beaten by anyone. Yes that may be partly down to new manager/system etc but looking at the EPL the biggest factor is the team/player or the lack of them. Especially quality in each of the key areas. Can you imagine if we lose Suarez, Gerrard, and the defence - what is left! Add some quality, invest properly and we will have a chance at respectability! I cannot believe other EPL teams lower down can attract some decent talent while we sit on our Ar***!!! What work is really going on in the background coz I cannot see much by way of results. I will always be LFC but right now I question if our club is in the right hands and if they know what they are doing. Time will tell, I just hope we get better at our decision making and improve our negotiation skills. Get some quality up front - Even our competition can see this is our key weakness!!! A good finisher yesterday and we would have been 3 nil up at half time!!! How can we get the club to see this as a vital issue before the window shuts?

Cheers lads, some good posts there.
My biggest worry for the team is how quickly the heads went down, it looked like they were expecting things to go wrong and when they did, it was just accepted, when Gerrard gave the ball away, the one which lead to Agger getting his marching orders, he just stood still looking to the ground in disgust with himself. There was no attempt to win it back, he just stood still till the ball was 25 yards back down field of him. It was classic self pity, classic, whys this happening to me. Every time Saurez missed a chance, he had the same look on his face as Gerrard had. It wasn't just these two it was nearly every established 1st teamer.
Maybe the players don't believe, maybe what's happened to the club in recent years has knocked their believe.
Confidence is everything in football, it's looks like we've had a collective lose of confidence
What tactics or formations the manager chooses to use will be redundant before he gets a chance if this attitude is rife amongst the 1st team squad.
I'm worried about what will happen this season, I can see us in a relegation battle.

Sorry my first thread is such a [oops] one. Not quite there but definatly dont prioritise this club like I used to.Too many bad decisions of late and a distinct lack of trust and unity within the club.
