I'm not gonna bother with the negatives because enough people will be covering them. Positives:
Joe Allen was by far our best player. Great debut, looked fantastic. He completed 96% of his passes over the whole game, only misplacing 1 out of 35 in the whole first half (not sure about the 2nd half).
We had an 88.87% pass completion. In our previous 4 seasons, (152 games) we haven’t bettered that.
Our passing accuracy in the final third today was 81.69%. Our highest rate in a game in the last 4 yrs is 77.94%
Rome wasn't build in a day, there's a long time to go. Swansea won 5-0 today. That wasn't down to Laudrup being a miracle worker, it was largely down to the hard work Rodgers has put in over the last few years to build what's now there. Laudrup is enjoying the fruits of that hard work. We're still (not so much) enjoying the fruits of Kenny/Roy's. We've seen glimpses of improvement, but it's gonna take more than a couple of games for things to turn around. This is the start of a new era, not the defining point. It was a horrible result and we're all bitterly disappointed, but some people need to chill out and get a bit of perspective. Get behind your team and stop acting like spoilt children.
