it's depressing what we had to live through today, big blow.
whatever, Downing is too predictible and a 45 mins player... may be sending him to the left wing to do just crosses in 2nd half would be more effective... Hope Assaidi makes more impact...
Cole is injury prone, i really can't remember a 90 mins game he finished for lfc and 90k per week...
if there's no money to buy new players and no pressure on BR, why no sell the high wages players and give academy talents a chance??

West brom had new players and a new manager aswell though. Let's not look for excuses - we've been doing that for too long. We just need to accept that we aren't particularly good anymore and it will take a long time to get back where we want to be.

Don't always agree with CarheeX, but certainly agree that we can't look for excuses anymore.

Some FACTS (yes, I do yearn for you know who but we won't go down that road) we have to acknowledge:

- We are way below the level we were at in 2009.
- We have not replaced Mascherano, Alonso, Torres with players anywhere near as good.
- We have a manager who is still on a learning curve and isn't yet at the same level as Rafa or the other top coaches.
- We have paid headline prices for players without flair or that something extra special that can turn a game

We have to conclude I guess that there are no quick fixes at the moment. Brace yoursleves... it could get worse before it gets better.

I totally agree, that team was stripped bare with very poor replacements if any. We have too many weaknesses! I just saw how Hazzard turned to set up Chelsea's opener V Wigan. Good players need little time to show class. Problem is we have average players who only look LFC class when they have a one off great day, otherwise its mundane mediocrity which is what we are at present. A level playing field would help though.

Agree with regards to WBA also having a new manager and players. It all comes to the decisions that were taken at the top. Anyway, how can we expect anything better from our owner who probably didn't even understand how European Football is played before they took over. They said it themselves that they are only learning the game, so I don't know who advises them to take important decisions or how it works. Though they have supported us financially better than H&G, don't think they have taken a lot of good decisions so far.

I'm begining to think if we'll ever return to the top four let alone win the damn thing...

Still fuming from the fact they just gave up after going 2 nil down!

Rodgers needs to realize putting Joe cole or whoever on for Lucas was a ridiculous decision!

I know its gut-wrenching, but we weren't too bad in the first half and after all it's just one game. But what I found most regrettable was our lack of fightback when things turned against us. Its also becoming clear that Suarez is not a finisher, he is a playmaker and we desperately need to sign a top class finisher, else we could be looking at the unthinkable...a rerun of last year in front of goal.

managerial stability is important now otherwise we'll never get top 4 without big money... different managers with different philosophies and many changes cause big blows...

Suarez is a forward and forwards jobs are to score goals, people can dress it up as much as they want but thats the bottom line, if you have a forward who does'nt score he's not worth a carrot.
