Back to the topic of thread, I think BR is doing pretty well in the transfer market. Whilst we may have got very little for the Maxi, Kuyt and Aquilani (who we did over pay for) he has got their wages off the books which has been a main concern. I believe we got our value out of Kuyt in particular who did very well for us and always busted his gut while on the pitch. Maxi given his limited time on the pitch did well for us also and at their age now weren't ever going to sell for huge dollars. Aqua on the hand was poor value given what he did for LFC. Not all of it being his fault because the previous managers as the club should also take some responsibility.
Yes he may have paid 15mill for Allen, which some believe is too much, but BR has a very high opinion of him which for me makes me believe he will be worth in the long run. Also, I doubt Allen's wages will be anywhere near what the three exits were. Borini for me will be great value from what I've seen of him and together with Suarez and Gerrard behind them will be a great combination and pose a threat to many defenses.
With a couple more additions, hopefully Sahin and Tello if rumors are true, I think it will have been a fantastic transfer window and the best in many seasons. Younger players, less wages and a strong foundation for the future of the club.
