Agreed. We have no other option after this latest debacle.

ps, watch some numpty post in a few days I have no right to call myself a Liverpool fan get behind the manager etc.

It will be the usual suspects who misquote you and don't come up with a genuine argument, just spout off about you being an Everton fan.

He refers to AC. He didn't stand by him in that PC. I agree with kd7 smile

I think the latest tactic is right hardball for £20m. £20m for Carroll is a not unreasonable price and clubs are trying to get him on the cheap. As we get nearer the season start they will cave in.

There's a higher likelihood that we'll be the ones to cave in, as usual. That said, I think he'll be with us next season. He isn't really good enough for a club in the top half and the clubs in the bottom half either can't afford him or he wouldn't want to go there anyway. I said when we paid £35m for him that we'd be stuck with him. The only way we can unburden ourselves is to take an enormous loss.

One question remains though, and that is 'how much control does BR have over transfers'? If we receive an offer of £10m and BR needs that £10m to sign a player that he really wants, would the board block the sale? If they did, that would be interfering with his team surely? The decision needs to be his.

most likely he has submitted a list of targets and they (henry weener and the freaky looking one ) have come back to him and said need to raise funds by selling. Which might explain why BR (who seems to have changed his mind) is now against loaning out Carrol and is more intent on selling him.

IF there's any truth that we're looking to pay £15m for joe allen, and we need to sell before we can buy, I'd rather we kept mr carroll. Joe Allen is a 'decent' player - but nothing more. We've probably got 2 or 3 reserves that could gives us what he can offer. £15m??? that's what PSG have paid for Ibrahimovic!!!!!! JA could be worth a punt at £3-£4m, but that's about it.

He's better than that. And if we had any decent reserves that could do what Joe Allen can, then we wouldn't have seen Spearing, Adam and henderson so much last year.

Not necessarily - the fact that they haven't been given a chance is down to dalglish's shockingly poor judgement. It doesn't mean we don't have that type of player.

No one in particular. I just know that JA is not a a £15m player. He is very average indeed. Miles better than Henderson of course but still not what we need, and certainly not at that price.

I honestly would rather keep carroll than get him. I think Hendo can do what he does. That money could buy someone better.
