BR On carroll, June 10...
It's something I would have to look at, I have to be honest.
"Sometimes a player going out on loan - in general, not just Andy - can benefit the club in the long term."
"There are many things to going on loan. Is it going to be beneficial for the club, that's the most important thing?
"Sometimes a player going out on loan - in general, not just Andy - can benefit the club in the long term.
"It gets them game experience, and they come back a better player, a more confident one. Certainly more so than if they've been sitting on the bench for the majority of the season
And on July 20....
"There is talk of him going on loan, but there is absolutely no way I would be looking to loan a player like that, especially after the investment the club have paid"
FOR [oops] SAKE, THIS WHOLE EPISODE HAS TURNED INTO AN ABSOLUTE FARCE!!!!!!!!!!!

Has it? can't get excited over it myself. I await Brendan's rebuilding of the club and see how that goes. But much depends on Henry. The Carroll situation is a mess but it has been since the club ridiculously wrote a cheque out for £35m. I think the latest tactic is right hardball for £20m. £20m for Carroll is a not unreasonable price and clubs are trying to get him on the cheap. As we get nearer the season start they will cave in.

KD makes a valid point, but unfortunately that's the price we pay for putting an inexperienced person in the job. He'll learn, hopefully quickly.
We hope that in the medium term things turn out well, but in the short term we'll have to suffer the consequences of these type of mistakes.

Its a big job for Brendan and he will make mistakes. He sounds like the type of bloke who will learn fast though. It was also a big job for Bill Shankly in the 60's and I have no doubt he made mistakes too. BTW in no way comparing the two just saying we all make mistakes.

cant agree with kd7, in the first statement rodgers is talking about loans in general, not specifically andy carroll, why do some supporters try and analyse every word managers say?

It's not a crime to make a mistake. Let's hope he does learn quickly and does achieve success. Recently we've appointed managers, allowed them to make mistakes but then sacked them before they had the opportunity to apply whatever they learnt from their mistakes. If we keep doing this we'll always be stuck in that phase - i.e. a manager with little or no contemporary experience of being at the top, and therefore prone to making the most basic mistakes.

THIS IS A CATASTROPHIC BLUNDER I knew BR was no good as a manager, his press announcements prove he has no knowledge of tactics strategy or man management, and lfc are stuck on zero points, sack him
