At the end of the day, can we say that anyone had a brilliant season last season. I mean, our best player was a defender. I think we need to see how they go under Rodgers.

I don't think we shouldn't sign British players at the same time just because of the duds we got last year. Johnson might come cheaply enough because Man City are trying to sell players.

I do agree though that the majority of bargains come from outside the premier league

Very good player. But is BR's plan to use 3 forwards or 2 wingers and a forward? I can't see AJ making a decent forward.

He did use two wingers last year in Sinclair and Dyer so I think he will be flexible about it

Yeah the system he uses allows players to be flexible in their positions. The wingers aren't really wingers and there is only 1 central striker who can also drop deeper (the reason we are selling Carroll)and is mobile enough to interchange.

Borini could be used as a "winger" on the right or left with another winger that we haven't bought YET

Maybe, but I'm not sure where the balance would come from. If we play a front 3, it's safe to assume that 2 of those places will go to Suarez & Borini with one of the playing out wide. With AJ on board, that would mean our front 3 would a wide forward, a strker and winger.

well you would have plenty of movement there plus Suarez is outstanding for Uruguay from wide position

AJ/Downing on the right cutting in, Suarez on the left cutting in. I think it depends on if he wants wingers to hug the touchline or use the full backs to bomb forward and provide the width.
