Arsenal's rebuilding will take a massive hit if and when RVP goes. I so agree that 4th is a big ask but not impossible and I think we can be a hell of a lot closer this season to it than last anyway. I think we can peg back Newcastle and Everton even through an improved home form

It is actually unbelievable to know that without van Persie's goals last season, Arsenal would have finished 16th. 16TH!!!!
He's gonna go, unless Arsenal keep another player for his last year and let him go on a free (they have a habit of it)
Arsenal will be mid-table next season if they cash in on van Persie.

As stubborn as Wenger is, you'd think he'd let him go for 25m.
We don't know how Chelsea will play next season, and I think we have the squad to overtake Arsenal and Spurs, IF things click as we hope.
We'll all say United will be challenging again, but do they have that much better first team than us? Or just a manager who can get the best out of most of his players? They were a minute away from winning it last season despite having to recall Scholes, injury problems at the back, a shaky keeper and a ridiculous Rooney hair transplant.
4th would be a fantastic acheivement in his first season, for sure.

The title?
Good grief. It's not about optimism or pessimism, it's simply that anyone thinking about the title this season must be pretty new to football.
Even if we were taken over by billionaires and went on a City-esque spending spree it would take us a couple of years minimum to win the title from this position.
4th is the maximum we can hope for this season and even that is a very, very long shot. 5th or 6th place would be pretty good as far as I'm concerned.

Swansea's home form was pretty good last year. Ours was good until xmas. 5 wins at home and then the chelsea game when cheslea were still on the ale was a disgrace and if brendan gets it better and the home form improves greatly then thing will improve big time .

I wouldn't put too much stress on where we finished last season, it was freakish how many times we hit the woodwork and our inability to score even sitters at times eventually undermined the teams morale, causing us to slump in the second half of the season. Had we even scored half of the clear cut chances we created, morale would have held up we would have been knocking on the door for a top 4 finish. It's most unlikely we will have a similar experience this season and I feel a top 4 or very close is a realistic target.

i think top 4 is an outside chance if you think we are going to win the title then i am having the drugs your taking Lol I'm not saying we're challenging for title outright, but we can challenge by stealth. After all, we have the same squad plus others coming back as last season and we were contenders for fourth. I think we'll get 4th, but once again, no harm in aiming high. Whether we employ stealthy or overt tactics, there is no chance of being anywhere near the title. What are you on mate. Utd and City will be stronger than last year, and the jump they make in strength is gonna be bigger than the jump we make as they will buy better than us (Utd already have in Kagawa). We have the fight of our lives, and require a miracle amount of luck just to finish 4th ahead of any of chelsea arsenal or spurs.
