Carroll i though had a better competition than Rooney

I thought Carroll was embarassingly poor last night. He just charges around AT people - a bit like playground football when someone who has never played the game before decides to join in.

i think he did more than Rooney

no but i also think the tactics where wrong because every time Carroll won the ball no England player around to pick the ball up

He had one cross of note come in and he had to back track and still got enough power in his header to knock the ball back for Rooney who fluffed his overhead. He also worked back more than Welbeck and when he initially came on and Hart hit him with headers he won them with ease although the knock downs didn't come off, all is needed is one or two a game to fall into an onrushing Suarez to cause havoc.

Agreed. Shrek was sub-par and clearly not match fit. Carroll should have started over either Welbeck or Rooney.

when is Rooney ever fit for England, too many England managers have pandered to him

It was only last month he was living it up in Vegas to the earlier hours

he never is fit that's what worries me

fergie keeps him under a tight plan under utd but England don't do the same
