I think he's one of the better possessors of the ball honestly.

Funny I remember him with a few shots off his feet and not his head that echoed class. Plus he is strong and skillful on the ball. Was his first goal against city a left footed thunderbluss?? He will fit into plan A and B all rolled into one so they wont know which defensive strategy to use. Used to go to the Wed v LFC game at Hillsborough and on the way to the ground my owl m8 used to say all they had to do was man mark mcmananman and the game was theirs and he was mostly right. Gone are those days and we will see use attacking from all angles this season. Fortress Anfield and blitzkrieg on the road

Really can't understand the negativity surrounding Carroll. First he isn't good enough at this, and then he proves he can do the job, so now it's something else he won't be good enough for. Can we start supporting him for a change? How about that? Wouldn't it be refreshing?
No, Carroll will not be creating passing triangles on the touchline. That's not what he is expected to do. Anyone watch Germany vs Greece? The Germans passed them to death, but take a look at their strikers. Klose and Gomez - traditional number 9s both of them. And you know what? They both score goals by the truckload.
I really can't see why people can't understand that being able to putting the ball on the floor AND in the air is the best approach. I think it was Rodgers who presented the idea that the place to get the ball in order to be successful was on the byline, halfway to the touchline. It's pretty hard to score from there directly (though Suarez has done so) but take a look at how many Suarez assists come from that area. So that will be his role, I'm certain of it. He will need a finisher alongside him, and having someone who can dominate any CB pair in the air in England is hardly a bad place to start. And if we don't have people who can head a ball, then every corner we take (and we create hundreds of those) will be a short corner that comes to nothing, just like Barcelona and Spain.
And yes, Carroll happens to be Plan B as well.

The Carroll I watched today had a great touch, a thundering header, and eye for a pass, and a fighting spirit. He's performed great for England, and he's proven that he can tear some of the best defenses in the world apart (City, Chelsea). He had a rough time adjusting to LFC after injuries and being forced out of his boyhood club, but his performances lately have been sublime. What do you you want from him?

nothing i want him to leave for stoke and enjoy a good career there. what i want lfc to do is buy a striker that can run the channels, is comfortable on the ball and has skill.

He looks pretty comfortable on the ball to me. In the Chelsea game he nutmegged Terry, and he had a sublime touch. We have a smaller, more tricky striker who can run the channels in Suarez. Carroll gives us another option, and frankly it's a good one. He's a solid number 9, and he will do well this season.

And yes, Carroll happens to be Plan B as well. yes, yes and yes. i agree with all of this. to be honest, it seems to me like a lot of people made their judgements early on and that's that. for some people, i don't think it matters what he does and hey, that's their right and all....i just see a lot more. i want carroll to stay and i think he will be a great asset. i honestly think that if carroll were to go, down the line, we would regret it.
