This stared with Faz telling Irish fans that in his opinion Roy Keane is one of the greatest players ever.
I said that in my opinion Keane was a very good player but not in the same class as true greats like Maradona, Pele, Cryuff, Beckenbaur and Messi.
I also said my opinion was based solely on his ability as a player and nothing else.
Faz refused to accept this straight forward explanation and then went of on a ramble telling me I was bitter toward Keane and I hated him. The only person to use the words bitter and hate during our conversation was Faz, but again when I mentioned this he refused to accept that fact. Apparently Faz knows not only his own mind but mine and those of other Irish fans also. You can't have a debate with someone who knows everything so I gave up trying
For the record the greatest ever Irish player in my opinion was Liam Brady

I think Shaggydog is right Liam Brady he was some player he really was Liam Brady or Roy Keane have probably been the best, depending on which flavour you like, Liam Brady was also one of the few overseas players to also succeed in Italy when he played for Juventus, Keane was the best of his type of midfielder since Souness although Veira did run him close at times.

Who would you say was the greatest southern irish player ever Liam Brady ? It's called the Republic of Ireland, not Southern Ireland. Republic.
