Roy keane was brought up either you or ianrush and said he was a legend to which several Irish posters explained the reasons we feel he's not a legend but you don't agree which is fair enough but don't say it believing that all Irish people think he is a legend. Also what difference does his playing for united have on him been one of the greatest Irish players ever?

I'm not getting into the arguement with string vest man about ire vs eng, BUT when you talk about best rep of ire player ever you are hard pressed to find a player who made an impression of crowd pleasing. On that level i would go robbie keane before roy keane. I don't really like the personalites of either player. But robbie keane has got nearly more goals for ireland than bobby charlton did for england, and the irish team has traditionally not scored many goals. For the goal scoring tally alone robbie keane wins. The debacle with roy keane & Eire squad has nothing to do with it in my view. Dont forget Steve heighway 30 odd caps.
My favourite player to watch was RAY HOUGHTON. But i would always go Robbie above roy keane, mark lawrenson and mcGrath probably top 5. Liam brady , trouble is i can't remember him! But I remember Frank Stapleton

This site below has roy keane at the top
