I think it would, because England have always thought and will always think they will win the tournament beforehand. After there is always a matter of hanging out scapegoats to dry publicly - or even better getting rid of them because the national side didn't even win the tournament this time either!

On a side note I'd like to add that the Swedish media are about the same when it comes to our chances before a big tournament in any sport.

Before the Euros they were so sure we would win our opening game against Ukraine, and then might nick points from France and England. 5 points would do they argued!
