Well if you have a look at our match squad, which is suppsed to be farly top edge, you will see we are clearly lacking at least 4-5 players.
And these are not number 14-18 in the squad, because we are lacking in the top end.
To really compete at the top flight level we need 4-5 top players, which will not come cheap. The other way of handling this dilemma is to do a Newcastle; Buy cheap and hope for the best. It might work out well, it might not!

my thoughts:
Javi Martinez 26m
Lavazzi 21m
Erekson 17m
Ramirez 17m Carroll, Downing, Hendo & Adam were happy to come to Liverpool without Champions League football which ones out of the four you mention can you say the same about.

Just trying to show what we have.I dont think too much investment is needed to get us back up there. To be fair, on paper we have a good team, maybe not a top 4 team but a very good team nonetheless. It's the fact they are all underperforming with little sign of change that's the worrying thing, and that's the reason reinvestment is needed in several areas of the team!

Just think we need a holding mid like Alonso style, a creative mid who's actually creative, like Michu, Diego etc. a goal poacher like a Gomez or Hernadez type player and a tricky right winger.

RB will probably never get 40m never mind 80m. Javi Martinez and a top winger would be my priority even if thoe two players cost us all the kitty. We don't need another group of squad players that won't be able to improve us drastically.
