I am probably gonna get ripped apart for this... But i think we as a club should give gerrard the option to leave he's been a gear servant and loyal captain. But lets be realistic were not gonna win the league or even come close within next few seasons. Im not saying he's past it or anything off the kind. Would just like to see him win some more competitions him as a played deserves to be given the option other wise he'll be almost like shearer a legend with not much to show it

He breathes Liverpool, and what he needs is some success with England. That's what he is lacking.

i have read it also and the chelsea saga was the time he could of left, but he will retire with us now

And I would like to see Liverpool without Gerrard.He seems to have far too much influence behind the scenes.

Agree with you, if he wants to go somewhere else to win the EPL, I would totally understand and wish him well. Even Shearer won the EPL with Blackburn

I would rather he went to spain or Italy. End his career on a high i would love him to lift the epl with Liverpool but i just don't see us doing it within next year to 3 years we are rebuilding and will be a force again but i think Gerald will retire just before that happens :-(

Unfortunately Gerrard like Shearer made an almightey error in judgement by staying at Liverpool because it came at the expense of his career, which ultimately cost him a world class tag.
I think the same thing applies to Shearer who picked his belovered Newcastle instead of joining United when he left Blackburn, he again sacrificed being regarded World Class. If you look throughout history all the true world class legends all put there careers ahead of the heart and boyhood Clubs in order to reach the top, Zidane left Marseille, Maradonna left Boca and the likes of your Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Figo all left there home countries and clubs they supported in order to play for Clubs who would provide them the platform to win the games biggest prizes.

Steven gerrard for me mate is world class just because hes not won any league title does not mean hes not world class i dont think there would of been many players to do what he did in istanbul and the fa cup in cardiff the year after hes won everything else at club football level and has been pivatol to all those cup wins as for him leaving to win a title else where it would mean nothing to him personally because he wanted at lfc and thats why he stayed hes an absolute legend end of.

all about opinions, I just cant see how anyone can put him alongside players who have been it, seen it and done it especialy on more than one occasion, it's a bit like saying Gerrard is on the same level as Souness or Dalglish.
