I must admit i hate seeing players who have been over rated (in my view) all through their career resort to rubbishing the england manager just before a tournament , but isn't rio an example of player power in football, and you could say , an example of the modern technical age of the playstation where fans (of all teams) want instant success, and players believe the hype about themselves in the media.

Apart from his wages what seperates ferdinand from the rest of us? I hate this twitter thing being used by footballers it should be banned!

Rio is finished, has been for 3 seasons, terrible defender these days and has zero pace. At least Terry is still a bit mobile and can be a great defender on his day. Hodgson did the right thing.

A prime example of a player(primadona) who thinks he's more important than anyone else, even the England manager and team, someone should bring him to book on this but they wont of course.
