Ok, I'm very sorry if this has been chatted about to much on other threads. But sometimes I can't keep up to save myself.
So in saying this, let do a stocktake of what assets we have at the club.
GK. Reina, Doni, Jones, Gulasci.
Def: Agger, Carra, Coates, Flanno, Johnson, Kelly, Robinson, Enrique, Skrtel, Wisdom.
Mid: Adam, Downing, Gerrard, Hendo, Kuyt, Lucas, Maxi, Shelvey, Spearing, Sterling, Suso, Coady, Aqua, Cole.
Fwd: Bellamy, Carroll, Eccleston, Suarez, Pacheco.
So our squad isn't so small really, and we have players coming back. So put your bets down on who will stay and who will go.
Out: Reina, Jones, Spearing, Aqua, Cole, Maxi, Eccleston, Suarez.
Got a feeling Reina and Suarez will jump ship, at least we'll get some serious cash for them. And to be fair Doni actually looked decent and interested when he got his shot.

I have to agree, I think Maxi, Suarez, Eccleston will go. Spearing may go on a loan, but Aqua and Cole can play a bit so maybe favoured by Rogers? We really need to try and hold on to Pepe, good goalies are as rare as rocking horse shi... Who knows?

Agree Jimmy if he wants to stay. His form went last campaign but the guy is as good as anyone in the game. I think we desperately need a couple of real good signings to lift the whole squad and get things positive.

Out of the ones that I believe will go, I only really want Maxi, Spearing and Eccleston to go because Maxi is getting over the hill, and I just don't believe Spearing or Ecleston will ever be good enough.
I would give Adam, Hendo and Pacheco, Downing a chance to prove themselves with Hendo and Pacheco, they hae age, and they might work under Rodgers much like Downing and Adam.
I hope Suarez stays, if he leaves like I have the feeling he will, I think he will just another forgettable player who kinda shat on the club. If he stays though and has a good season without any drama then he will be remembered in a better light. I don't think much of him, I just hope he grows up a bit and plays for the team.

Why sell Aqua, he seems like a player who fit in nicely with Brendans' style of play. Frankly, I'd be more worried about Gerrard having to change his style and how is Carroll going to fit in.

Do we still highly rate Pacheco? - we sent him on loan and was barely played. Very strange. When you compare him to the impact of someone like Shelvey (6 goals in 10 appearances for Blackpool) I cannot see him making the cut at Anfield - unless Rodgers sees him as a Dyer like figure.

I didn't mean I would sell them, I just got this fearing that they'll be gone. I wouldn't mind keeping Aqua and Cole, because they're a damn site better than Spearing, Hendo and Adam. If I was the manager (we'd get relegated for sure), but I would be trying to get to get the owners to get every cent together so we could bring in a holding mid and a creative mid, my list would be: Holding mids: Javi Martenez/Joe Allen/Marvin Martin/Joao Mautinho Attacking mids: Michu/Gaston Ramirez/Gylfi Sigurdsson/ Stevan Jovetic If we can get one of those players in those categories, then I think we would be very competitive. Some of them might be a stretch, but if you don't try you don't get.

Your holding and attacking mids selection looks a darn sight better than what we have right now. Sadly, I don't think we will see many transfers this break and having the euros currently don't help.

Reckon we might have the man to put sg in his proper place.i hate to say it but a replacement should have been bought by kd last summer.people don't want to hear it but he's finished and has been for two seasons, great servant tho he was.he was picking his games with kd and at his age/condition he still persists with his england career

I think there will be a few. Sure there werent any during January, but FSG has shown through every other window that they are willing to back the manager, but with the signings that we have brought in, they're probably gonna expect Rodgers to be wise, and to be able to give good reason to his signings.
Don't forget that there are a lot of really good players that won't be at the euros. 5 of the players I mentioned wont be there. Lots of good South Americans and Africans.
Plus you have nations like Switzerland, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine just to name a few.
That leaves midfielders like Granit Xhaka, Douglas Costa, Valentine Stocker, Willian, Fabian Frei, Fernandinho, Udil Ahmedov, Alex Texeira, Milos Krasnic and Danny, just to name some that won't be there who are IMO better than what we have.
Lots of good players out there. Got the feeling that Rodgers knows what he wants.
