he would get much more time on the ball in a club like roma, or any other club in serie a, and that is what he needs. he can't handle the tempo in the pl...

That's certainly good company with those players, and Lucas was the youngest ever. He was something special in Brazil, but he hasn't developed as he should have here.

yea i know, and all of us had high expectations on him when he arrived. but it just hasn't worked out and maybe you're right about our training methods etc...

i still have a hard time picturing him being a success in another premier league club though...

it has been a problem at the club for a long time now ....... our players just don't seem to improve technically - though getting rid of joe corrigan has helped sort out the goalies coaching

its about time our first team coaches were called to account ...... perhaps we should send them to spend time working at clubs like arsenal, and other ones which improve their players, so they can learn new training methods

or just recruit the best ones from those clubs

I like him but i dont think he's good enough. He's nowhere near the same league as Hamman McCallister Alonso Gerrard Mascherano and to be fair i think he has more passion than Gerrard on the pitch half the time.

Youre right it has been a problem for a while. I wonder how some of the (many) players that have been bought in by Rafa over the years supposedly full of talent and potential only to fail, would have benefited from a different manager and/or training methdods.

Our inability to find a successful strike force (apart from Torres of course) has blighted us for a long time now.

Going back to lucas.I personally think he's no where near good enough.Whether it's along side mash or instead of.I don't think he'd get a regular start at any other prem league team. His influence in game's is practically zero.Don't see what rafa see's in him.But rafa is stubborn,he'll persevere with him.Unfortunately,to the detriment to the team. But,having said that, alot of player's have under performed so far this season. But lucas just isn't good enough.

Rafa has messed up with quite a things too..

and EMP its just very very clear that he gotta stick to a lad he brought in.He wont just afford putting him on bench or reserves.

u know there are a gazillion questions and bashing in media n everywhere if something of that sort happens.so its just too simplistic to choose him every week over a bunch of talented youth squad.

rafa has screwed the fans i feel..its over I say

I just feel that the 2 together leaves us a little lacking in the flair and attacking side of things. The lad has definately improved and you can't fault his effort and commitment. Any lesser player would've folded under the pressure we put him under for not performing.

Still can't believe he's Brazillian though.

So so funny. Look around the threads. Apparently he won't give Aquilani a game even though he bought him. Last year he wouldn't give Robbie Keane a chance, lol. But now we're saying any player he gets in he won't put him on the bench?!

You seriously could not make this up

Lucas is there for his work rate, his tackling, and to improve as a young player. I know many haven't got the patience for that. But most fair minded people, even if they believe he isn't good enough, have still seen a big improvement in him this year. Him and Masch have actually run games against good opposition. So yeah he would get in other sides.

well that was just a probable answer to argument and just might be applicable..though aqua is a different story (injury) and i bet Robbie was never his call...
yeah we controlled the opposition.we not only had clean sheets and we actually played brilliant attacking football.thanks to ....well never mind

yeah SA Red there are such brazillians in this world.we gotta admit.
