if martinez and roger's odds are changing that much (i think they have changed) then there is nt a lot of betting going on? or certainly not a lot of betting going on for the other candidates?

I think the future looks bright .... not so sure why van Gaal is in the mix ... but after Kenny's spending I reckon they're not willing to trust anyone..... whatever happens, we'll have some good passing football that befits the club and not the imaginary good passing football that Dalglish kidded himself in to believing that we were witnessing last year.

Ooh knee jerk polls now - what a novelty!! Current odds: Rodgers 1/2 Martinez 2/1 And if you fancy a bet on kopprophet making a post that DOESN'T use the phrases knee-jerk or doom/gloom, then the odds are 10,000-1. It's evens that he'll whinge at fans again today for daring to discuss things that he's not interested in. Haha... try changing the Carheex record if you want to hear a different tune from other posters mate. We know there's a chancer and an optimist inside you somewhere mate. Let him out once in a while... do wonders for the old health! Never!

Martinez will want control, Brendan will be the yes man they want and he wont mind a lack of control over transfers etc he will purely man manage and pick the team/tactics. If it wasnt for the whole director of football thing id love to see Martinez get the control with a better budget and prospects. Sadly I think FSG want their yes man

Martinez can work if given control, can go either way.
Brendan taken on as the yes man working off man management and having player coming or going without his overall say is a hiding to nowhere.

I think its an interesting idea, its just alien to us. There are still a lot of questions about the new management structure, if its Van Gaal as DOF does he alone buy players? or does the manager say to him I want player x go get him? I don't see Rogers as a yes man though, I think he might be the one to shake things up, god knows its needed...

If the stumbling block for Martinez is the lack of control as reported then if Rodgers takes it means hes ok with it??? If the DoF is Gaal he will want to much control, hell he wants the manager job.

Yeah, Van Gaal comes with that reputation alright, but, we don't know what the structure will look like and I think if Rogers is offered/takes the job FSG must give him some level of control that he's happy to work with..that doesn't necessarily make him a puppet of FSG.......I hope....

Pep Segura rates Van Gaal, who mentored Mourinho, who mentored Rodgers, who's worked with Clarke
