Am proud that Stevie G is going to captain England at the Euro's! It may be long overdue but he is a guy who leads by example and hope he finds his old form, he certainly deserves more silverware at club level than he currently has. Not that England are expected to do well, the recognition is a nice touch.Who knows, maybe we can do a Greece. I was at the WC in 2010, and though the side under performed plus the German goal may have had a different outcome were it given, he never gave up trying. John Terry was far more vocal on the pitch which seemed to undermine SG role.
Sadly it was not to be and what was probably the best English side in a long while, failed!
As far as being a loyal Red, he could have walked into any team he chose had he decided to pursue silverware, and was by far the best player in the world at his prime. If a man is judged on medals at the end of his career, then he falls short on that aspect. It would be sad if he finished his career without the one medal he and Carra would treasure the most, PL Champions!!
Having watched his entire career, he has always stood out, given everything and without doubt a player with exceptional talent. SG has been the glue for so long at LFC and deserves so much more credit given him outside of the Club where he has given the fans so much joy and hope.
Come on England lets do a Greece!
Come on Liverpool win the PL before SG retires, we've been in the shadows for far to long.
