A lot of transfer talk going on at the minute and from what I've read most would like to see us bring in a winger?! Does anybody agree that Sterling should be given an opportunity this season? For me if they're good enough they're old enough! Look at Giggs, Owen and Rooney all in the 1st team at 17/18!!

Sterling really deserves better. If we are not able to produce players ourself and just rely on transfers, we might get in trouble. Sterling should be given chance. Not a 5 or 10 minutes sho off will work.

Sterling is only 17 and is built like a kid so will need easing into the premier league. If he does all the right things in training and reserve games he'll get he's chance when he's ready. The chances are he'll probably turn out to be a load of old $hit anyway

I think he'll be given more opportunities as like a 70th minute sub, but I doubt he'd be a first team regular.

People are trying to rush these kids through too fast, Sterling is tricky at Reserve level but you have to remember how much lower that level is from the first 11. Look what happened to Flanno last year after a bright start, faded badly and lost his confidence, no need to ruin the boys now.
Sterling is the closest for me though, Coady is miles away from what i have seen so far (watch every game live on the pc) he can`t even boss a reserve match, others not any closer. Give them another year at least.

Definitely he will get Europa Minutes no matter who the manager is.
Signing a winger never gonna stop his growth as long as he is good enough.

We need a winger who can play consistently for next 2-3 years. Meantime Suso & sterling will get minutes in cup games.

How many quality players have come through the academy to become 1st team regulars in the last 10 years? For the costs involved it barley seems worth bothering with. Every year there are 2 or 3 'next big things' that end up disappearing into obscurity. Granted, we 'might' unearth the next fowler but it would probably be a hell of a lot cheaper to just go and buy him.

Probably the only position doesn't need any Cover for first team is RB. Almost every other position in our team needs better 2nd choice. Asking someone to step up who is light weight at 17 is little too much. 2 more years he should play in cup mathces or the Teams just got promoted to PL.

i would give raheem more mins this season for sure. this is how i would play him
PL ; i would bring him on with about 20mins left to stretch the game using his pace.

urfa; play him from the start

carling cup ; play him from the start

fa cup ; play him from the start but maybe not if we get one of the big boys

this way he should get at least 15 games starting from the beginning and lots more from the bench. thats not a bad amount of games for a 17yr old. this was we also ensure we dont over play him

if the youngsters are not given a go how will you know they are good enough?
