i think we might have to move reina and stevie on..reina has been crap for a while and when you start thinnking about his career you start wondering did we over-rate him anyway. he now looks fat,un-agile ,doesn't know when to come for the ball, drops shots straight to on rushing strikers..time for a move for him.
stevie is never fit , can't play in a 4-4-2 . if martinez came in and he played stevie in an advance 3-4-3 , as part of the 3 maybe, but i doubt he will ever be fit enough again.

It could just be that we are trying to find a manager that just isn't available in this window. This retarded logic and sorry that's what it is, about change for change sake or fresh ideas for fresh ideas sake is not the way forward.
Selection is 90% based on a track record. How many top 4 or even top 6 sides now have a Martinez or would even consider it? Oh let's get Martinez because the timing or opportunity to select someone preferable isn't there and give him a 4 year contract. That isn't a warranted or sound decision in my book.
Please someone put up a convincing argument for a 4 year punt on a Martinez as apposed to a vigorous discussion with Raffa at interview with the offer of an initial 1 year deal and I'll hold my hands up to it and gladly bow.

rather have Martinez on a long term project than rafa
rafa would causes as many issues as he solves

eh because fsg want their own man and their own vision ..a vision of young exciting spanish style team. they don't want a political mess that appointing rafa would bring. there is no way in hell they are going to appoint a man who has such a trouble relationship with owners.

I think that's stretching it a bit far to be honest, especially if he's boxed into manage the team and list who he wants in and out type role. The DOF will be there to do the rest.
However, if Martinez is appointed I'll be behind him 100%, if it goes wrong though FSG won't have any excuses and rightly so.
All the polls done right across the fan sites show clearly he's not a popular choice. But, that doesn't mean we are always right. Pardew stands out as a clear example where the fans got it wrong.
Let's just hope at LFC next season we are all rocking eh!!!

Before we go big noting pardew let's see what he does next season! He had a good season don't get me wrong but I wouldn't go saying he is a great manager and let's not forget he took over Newcastle, no disrespect but he overachieved this season so it unless he does it next year thats all it would be,1 good season. A great manager will achieve great things with a team that expects big things. Rafa did that!

I'll take a bit of over-acheivement from a manager for a change You're right though, next season will find out. I don't think he's a bad manager though, he's done well at other clubs. Thing is, we need a truly GREAT manager, which is what concerns me about the MArtinex talk. A good manager will keep us around top 6, maybe getting in top 4 occasionally, but we need someone a bit more special. agreed, need to be looking to reach top of the pile and not mediocrity
