They may well get it right. I hope they do. But on the evidence so far, they're getting it wrong.

Yeah they got it wrong by doing what the fans wanted i.e sacking hodgson and bringing in kenny who got it all wrong.
So everyone give them a break and actually give them a chance to do what they want.
Fed up of everyone having a go at a group that bought out the two crazy yanks, got rid of our 200m debt and done what the fans wanted. So far they have done everything to please the fans. i can't fault them so far.

I'm not having a go at them... fair play to them for putting their money in and having a go.
But this is a forum about opinions. If we see a manager making tactical mistakes we can come on here or go down the pub and chat about. That's what football's about isn't it? entertainment, escapism, opinions etc.
Likewise, if we feel that the board or the owners are getting things wrong, surely we can express those views?
The fans want a competetive team. The owners want a profitable club. It's the owners responsibility to work out a strategy that achieves both. If their decision making is based on the whim of fans then that itself is flawed management isn't it?

If they kept kenny people would complain, they got rid of him so people complain. I am looking forward to them picking 'their' manager and various backroom staff. Hopefully they will supply that manager with further funds. From there if it doesn't work then at that point we can say 'their' chosen manager didn't cut it. the people that need to be moaned at is the players. Something is wrong as you can tell that confidence is gone, and they aren't enjoying it. When you enjoy football, your confidence increases and then the results come.

they already made a huge blunder in sacking kenny. no doubt we would ahve improved next season. patience they don't have. so now they want AVB a fella who proved a disaster at a club with much better players and much more money.
you get the feeling that they will be sacking avb this time next year too. plus probably all the new staff they have appointed . at that stage they will just have to hold their hands up and admit they don't know what they are doing. end up selling the place. Sacking Kenny is the best move FSG have made so far and it proves that NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, you are not bigger than LFC. They didn't give in to fans who wanted to keep Kenny. They made a smart move by appointing Kenny, not only because it united the fans but because Kenny really did improve the club, despite our league position, the unity amongst the players and staff has improved. They didn't hesitate when it was time to remove him though and made a tough decision that left many disgruntled but at the end of the day was the correct business and footballing decision. They know what they are doing and that is why they have 400 million to spend on a football club whilst we try and save by buying no name brand....

just because they have money doesn't mean they know what they are doing. especially when it comes to english football. and you may say it kenny needed to be sacked whilst i and others would think kenny needed support . it was 1yr , we played well in a lot of games ,got to 2 cups finals, back in europe.. it wasn't fast enough for the american mentality but that doesn't mean that mentality is correct. its not like fsg threw money at kenny that would have made top 4 a neccessity. it was a conservative investment ,some 28 million out of their pockets on players.

no one needs to be moaned at. but if the players aren't performing efficiently or effectively it's the manager's responsibility. And if the manager can't turn things around over a period of time then it's the owners' responsibility to get someone who can.
Here's a few mistakes FSG may have made:
- if they appointed Kenny to please the fans then that's a mistake isn't it. It was their duty to appoint a person in whom they had full confidence to achieve their plans.
- how clear did they make it to Kenny that 4th is a minimum target? From his public statements right up to Cup Final day, Kenny didn't seem to be aware.
- At what point did they lose confidence in Kenny? It must surely have been a while back? If so, why didn't they have a better idea by now as to who they want as a replacement?
- if Pep was their preferred candidate and he's not available for a year, then wouldn't it have been better to keep Kenny for another year? Or appoint Rafa for a year straight without even contacting Martinez, Rodgers etc?
Like i said in my original post, they may surprise us if/when everything falls into place.

Err since when has it been the british mentality to accept mediocrity? Speak to any british liverpool fan last august and said what was the target this season. Not one would have said Carling Cup and almost all would have said 4th place some even though we might get the title.

maybe it was 4th place but its not the british mentality to sack without question if 4th is not achieved. we were outsiders for 4th. chelsea, man u ,city, arsenal and spurs were ahead of us ,and had better and more expensive ,more experienced squads. the british mentality ,in times gone by, would have been to support kenny, 1. because the majority of the fans ,staff and players are behind him. 2. becuase he brought silverware and 3. because of signs of improvement. we batterred the european champions for the last 30 mins of that fa cup final.
