Rafa is a no go for me, i love him for what he did but in all fairness the club became sterile towards the end with him there,
he is a control freak and if he doesn't have full control then he upsets the apple cart. The club needs fresh ideas from an up and coming manager and not revert back to the awful football he can bring. Martinez, Klopp or AVB would be perfect for us. But that's just my opinion.

What about Huub Stevens?

Have to say that I reckon Deschamps would be awesome. He's been a winner all through his career, so I could only assume that he has the perfect mentality that he could instill into the players.

Plus he won the league for marseille for the first time in like 14 years.

He's also been ineffective for some time now - and every league programme but one was done by January. We sacked Dalglish for poor league performance - so it's ludicrous to go back to a man that failed six times as many times as Kenny has done.

He achieved a higher league finish in each of those seasons than Dalglish has achieved last season and with approximately one fifth of the transfer funds per transfer window.

Perhaps you should consider that, remove your Kenny coloured specs and for 5 minutes, just be realistic. It seems to me sometimes like you have an almost unhealthy obsession with both Kenny and Rafa, just in 2 very different ways.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there.

Ever since he's left, I've wanted him to return at some point in the future - my benchmark was always when Stevie retires. At least part of me still thinks it's too soon, and I still have all the same doubts there about him, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want him - and above all, the primary reason is that I genuinely don't see any better contenders at the moment. AVB? Martinez? I just don't know. Of course, I'd give my full backing to either of them, if they're appointed, and I have warmed to the idea of both of them, since the initial links, but I'm not sold on either of them completely at the moment.

I get that completely. I'm not a proponent of Martinez/Rodgers/Lambert/ Pardew... we've been down the impressive relegation survivor manager route - it's too risky. Martinez got Swansea relegated... not sure he can step up. Pardew had a great season... but I wouldn't be surprised to see the barcodes slip right back down the table next year. AVB is an interesting proposition - he didn't get hardly any time at Chelsea and the Terry/Lampard contingent did him in. I think he'd do better with Gerrard and Carra. My faves were Guardiola and Klopp but they are never gonna come are they?

you see now you sound like the doom and gloom merchant
