Pienaar will still be available as South Africa didn't qualify for the African Nations Cup.

Bill Shankly would've hade a real ripper of a comment handy for this occasion!

We won the Derby at the weekend. If we can't enjoy the win being cocky at their expense why bother beating them.

of course we should enjoy the win, but that's it...i could understand if people started this thread if we were top of the league, but the reality shows we have enough of our own problems....we're not man city or atletico madrid who thinks that their seasons has been a success just beacuse they won against their rivals (man city might have other ambitions nowadays tough)...the days when everton were our main rivals are over, today it's all about being better than chelsea and united....

Your right about Everton not being our rivals but come on lets face it we can hardly call ourselves rivals to United and Chelsea. Last Season we may or may of not pushed United close depending on which way you look at it, but the truth of the matter is United have been on altogether different playing field to us for about fifteen years, we have been as close to them rival wise as Everton have been to us during the same period, so lets put things into perspective before we reply to such silly threards, whats the saying about people in glass houses.

I should have put it on the Other clubs forum, but I thought this place needed lightening up and something different to the constant "Rafa should go/we shouldn't have sold Alonso/kick out the owners" threads. Whilst in terms of us winning the league, taking points off Man Utd and Chelsea is more important, I think you and a few others are massively underestimating what winning the derby means when a high percentage of your friends, family and work colleagues are Evertonians and you have to tolerate their constant sniping at LFC, it's nice to silence them by beating them and taking the p1ss out of them at any possible opportunity

erm no coz i hear all the bitterness from those members of my family that belong to the dark side ..... i am just not interested in stooping to their level is all ...... i don't give a toss about everton other than the 3 points at the end of the day - that bugs them far more than a thread belittling them believe me wink
