As I'm sure most of us guessed, it looked like Maxi was waving farewell to The Kop as he was subbed off. He tweeted this a little while ago, which further strengthens that theory.

Shame, because I really like Maxi, and think he has a lot to offer as a squad player. Along with Kuyt, he's been very unlucky not to get more minutes this season, especially when you consider the goal return he's given us this season and last season when he has played.

Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

Another tweeter tonight was Robbie Fowler. Great to see him and Barnesy on the pitch kitted out at half time. Fowler was showed in the crowd at tonights game aswell as the FA Cup Final with his young lad. He tweeted this:

can someone explain to me why everyone thinks maxi is leaving? I only watched the first twenty minutes of the game. Was he just waving to the fans thats basically it?
