GK: Krul - has excelled this year behind a back 4 nowhere near as good as Richards-Kompany-Lescott-Clichy
LB: Baines - mostly just for being consistently above average; very few top-quality fullbacks in the Premier League at the moment in my opinion
RB: Richards - has added a bit more of an attacking edge to his game recently, and City have been reaping the benefits; one wonders why he isn't England's automatic first-choice
CB: Kompany - an absolutely indomitable force, and one of the best in the world
CB: Coloccini - heart said Skrtel, but Coloccini gets the nod because it's a lot more difficult to look good when you're playing next to Mike Williamson
RM: Valencia - very good season, especially for someone coming off a serious injury; felt bad leaving Ben Arfa out, but Valencia has been more consistent
LM: Dempsey - bit of a stretch here, because he doesn't play out left very often, but I couldn't leave him out
CM: Silva - tailed off in the middle third of the season but a brilliant beginning and end
CM: Cabaye - gets the nod over Tiote for me because of his excellent passing range and threat from set pieces; probably the bargain buy of the season
ST: Aguero - one of the few truly world-class players to move to the Premier League from elsewhere and has been worth every penny City paid for him
ST: Van Persie - quite simply, an incredible 12 months for him personally; and where would Arsenal be without him?
Honorable Mentions: Sessegnon, Song, Rooney, Ba, Cisse, Mata, Walcott, Hart, Skrtel, Ashley Cole
