It's quite simple we need a better cover for dm if lucas gets injured to close of games to get the 1-0's if required ala de jong who comes on to kill games off for city with Barry.
A striker with pace who can poach,
One of shlvey or spearing go on loan or sold,
Aqua, kuyt, cole, maxi all have to be sold as their wages are too ridiculously high for the talent they bring to the pitch.
Even if they played to their best they'd still be over paid.
Finally pray pray and pray some more that Robinson grows quickly and that in the future he can overtake Enrique at lb for the big games in the season.
Make hendo not a regular starter
If suarez plays play another striker with him whcih is a must

Carrol MUST stay, and MUST play....REGULARY!
He was pivitol (sp) yesterday and is growing in confidence right before our eyes.
Next season...and with Lucas back, we could well be a force to reckon with.

We have lots to do, and not much to do it with. So we need to prioritise.
1. Striker
We need a goal coring threat. Caroll has been brilliant last few games. I think we should now go forward trying to bulid a team around a Suarez, Carrol strike partnership. But we still need a goalscore who can provide cover or play as a 3rd striker. Had we had such a player, we could have compensated for the defficiencies elsewhere.
2. Creative Midfielder
David Silva/Xabi Alonso type player. Long term replacement for Gerrard. Would be happy for Aquilani to have a second chance. Which in turn would save funds for strengthening elsewhere.
3. Defensive Midfielder to provide cover for Lucas. Spearing not good enough.

I would rather we sold Aqualani as he does not want to be at anfield.
def agree with you concerning the def midfielder as spearing in not good enough to be in our first team or even our bench.

Totally agree. We need s striker who can play with either Suarez or Carroll. So if one is missing for any reason then we have a replacement. Also they can be rested/rotated if there is a 3rd top striker there. But we must play two up front Aquilani would have been far better than Adam or Henderson. Either of those can be back up but we should never be playing a midfield that plays two or more of Adam/Spearing/Henderson in it. Defensive midfielders don't come cheap. Tiote would be my choice but he likes a card.

Our backup striker must be a poacher with pace. Simples. He could then partner either Suarez or Carroll and would allow us more tactical finesse off the bench.
