Teams do play that formation and do well. But like Rafa said, we have been playing that formation all season, and we're 8th in the league 16 points (yeah, 16 points) behind the 4th place. It's so so clear that that formation hasn't worked for us.

It's all nice for you to say we've been creating chances all season etc etc, but we haven't put them away ALL season, so what makes KD believe that it's all going to magically fall in place in a final. Especially when you use Spearing and Hendo in the middle. That fell short instantly, which made Gerrard (our best attacker) fall back because the others couldn't cope.

Don't you think that it would of been wise of Kenny to try a different formation considering that it hasn't worked? His players haven't worked either, it's a shame, he had all the resources to do much better this season, and has [oops] it up big time.

I think our problem this year has been the players we bought. Looking at our team, it's clear that we are weaker than last year and much weaker than the year before. It's true that loosing both Lucas and Adam did not help (they are better than Spearing, Hendo and Jonjo) but why did we sell Mereiles to buy Adam, i am sure that Aquilani and Joe Cole are better than those the 3 above. Was it an objective to bring down the salaries? Look at who was on the Chealsea's bench? Arguably one of our best strikers in the last few years and a Mereiles who came in only as their better player was injured. Not qualifying for Champions league for 2 years in a row (this year is going to be the 3 years) has already taken it's toll regarding the squad. Yes tactics is important but if you do not have good players tactics can only save you a few games.

Completely agree, but surely it's down to both. The team is meant to be competing with each other for spots. Rameres and Mereiles surely compete for the midfield spot and there's not a lot between them, much like Torres and Drogba. When Lucas comes back is Spearing or even Henderson even in the same league, NO WAY!

We are a team that's meant to be striving for excellence, what has happened to us? We brought in Hendo, Downing, Adam, Enrique, Ballamy and Coates in the summer. Out of those players, which ones did supprters seriously believe would make an impact.

I know when I saw that we were going for Hendo and Adam that I thought it would be to improve the sqaud, to compete with Aqua and Raul, but little did I know that they were going to be the main sqaud. Downing I thought would be good. And as for Ballamy, he's done pretty good, as has Enrique for the mojority of the season. And Coates has shown that he has the the ability to be a very good player, that's more than Spearing or Hendo have ever shown.

Newcastle brought in Cabaye, Cisse, Ba and Obertan. Even Spurs brought in Adebayor, Parker and Saha. They payed peanuts for them and look who we brought in, and what we paid. Parker and Cabaye are streajs ahead of both Adam and Hendo. What are our scouts doing? And why is Kenny choosing these players?

We should have kept Meireles and Aquilani. At least they are thousand times better than those two.We REALLY need to buy a world class holding midfielder, two world class wingers for each side, a world class striker and some really good defenders as backup.Until then, just forget about challenging the top four spot, let alone the BPL title.

As many of the fans have said before, football isn't a rocket science. You invest money on world class players in order to achieve success.Look at Man City or even Chelsea, they benefited from the investment of their respective owners. And the most important thing, they spend their money on WORLD CLASS players.Only quality players will win us the league.

150% agreed. This is the perfect answer to all those above mentioned questions.Buy quality players, gel them as a team, and reap the benefit for many years to come.I repeat, BUY QUALITY PLAYERS.Its not rocket science.

So why aren't you managing then? It's not like every signing has a label that says "good signing" or "bad signing." Downing was class last year, an accomplished international and one of the best crossers in the league. Adam was nominated for player of the year at blackpool. Hendo was in FIFA's top 20 youth players listing (a list that included Welbeck, Gotze, De Gea, and Neymar. From your armchair you can say Kenny's awful and should have known, but it's never rocket science, it's a gamble. It's always a gamble. It just didn't work out. That being said, I think it may have been a mistake to ship out Raul and Aqua, but there was no way to know the others would flop.

Lets come to the real deal..

Kenny just don t have the skills to guide, to teach, to give instructions and to motivate the players. Simple!!!

How can all the players play [oops] in the same season??

Reina, Kuyt, Henderson, Adam, Downing, AC?

In fact all of them had a bad season based on their previous standards..

Anyone realize that during games KD behaves more like a supporter instead of the manager, the mentor or the motivator??

It is all down to confidence.

Watching downing yesterday he looked like a player too much worried about making a mistake so kept passing the ball either back to enrique or 5 yards square.

This is a guy when on his game can beat a defender, create an assist and score 5 to 10 goals a season.

Someone needs to tell him "everytime you get the ball, act like the winger you are and race down that line a cross the ball into the box"

What he is currently doing we might aswell have kept Nunez and Gonzalez.

I for one am looking forward to the return of aqualani. I recall him being our best player in pre season. His vision and technical ability are second to none in our squad.
