take a step back for a moment and have a think. change for the sake of change is not always a good thing.

- We've been to two cup final and won one

- We weren't outclassed yesterday, though it was obvious they had better players in some areas; we just had a bad first hour at the office

- look how we slated Carroll and how he seems to have found himself over the last month

- the financial statement this week showed how much it costs to sack people. Millions in pay offs. We can't keep doing that.

- the signings probably deserve one more season to try and show some value. if we sold them now, as a new guy might want to, we'd lose value on them big time too.

- the biggest question of all perhaps, is there a person out there who is standout 'we can't miss out on' candidate; someone who is universally accepted by LFC fans and who would want to take the job?

So whilst I think this season has been a huge disappoinment and not good enough, without knowing who the proposed alternative would be, I say we stick with Kenny at least to start the next season. Almost like saying 'you got us into this mess, now get us out of it'.

I would like to see Kenny succeed, but if he doesn't, I'd like to see him resign rather than sacked.

No that's a good starting point. One thing such a long list shows is that we don't really know what we're looking for. i.e. it's a negative kind of approach like 'anyone except the guy we have now'

I say we want long term success and stbility. Yes, a club that wins things, acheieves top 4 and competes for the title. But not one that struggles to do this by changing the manager every season or so.

One day the financial bubble will burst in football and when it happens we want a club which can adjust to that. Rafa may have not quite pulled it off, but he's a good example in that he kind of wove himself into the fabric of the club, the city, the supporters etc. Someone who makes a long term commitment. Not sure all the names in your list would do that.

We're at a precarious position now. If we don't steadily start improving and competeing we could fall even further. The next appointment could be crucial. The press will be chomping at the bit at the next guy to fail it's going to be a big call. So someone like AVB probably won't even get a honeymoon period with us.

Of all the names you've listed, in my opinion only Guardiola appeals and that too is perhaps just a romantic dream. Can he do what he did with Barca with our squad? If not, as is likely, do we have the funds to get the players he would need? Probably not. Would his style of play and players be suited to the rigours of an English league during the winter months?

The others are just as much a gamble as Dalglish and therefore probably not worth the upheaval just yet.

I could also add blanc.
regarding your comment on only guardiola for you, then IMO

you football knowledge and mine differ greatly.

what Loew has built and done with Germany fits the mould of what FSG are looking for.

Loew: Isn't he the maneger of Germany? Why would he leave?

Klopp: You mean the manager of the champions of Germany, who are in the CL next season, and who are one of the better teams around at the moment. Why would he leave that?

Girard: No chance, he is about to be in the CL with a team that he built. Why would he leave?

Emery: Would be a good option. A proven winner.

Hiddink: No chance, just took up the job with Anzhi. He doesn't really leave his positions.

Bert van Merwijk: The dutch manager, is he leaving?

Guardiola: Taking a year off.

Biesla: Could be a good option.

Jol: Not good enough.

Rijkaard: Not good enough at the moment, seems like he's after the money these days.

Deschamps: Maybe, not a bad option. We could probably go for him.

AVB: Not to sure about him, he needs to build his confidence and get some more experience.
