I wasnt sure about Dalglish but I think its fair to say tactically it was a poor showing for the final.

Kuyt was left out of the starting line up. It is most likely his final season here and we all know how he thrives in big games so I thought it was a bit strange how he was left out of the starting team considering he was bound to give 110% for his (possible) last major game for LFC.

Carroll has been in fairly decent form of late and it was also strange for him not to start given the extra aerial dimension that he could add to our play.

Again Henderson was included despite his mediocre performances of late. I know he has the ever present argument that he has youth on his side but you wouldnt bet on a 12 year old to pass the A-levels would you?

Spearing I thought would have done much better, just shows how much Lucas is missed.

Does anyone else think that since we played so poor in the first half why didnt the manager make changes straight away? It's difficult to comprehend that if a system isnt clearly working why dont you change it as soon as possible?

I would have loved Dalglish to succeed but unfortunately it seems he has been a poor manager (tactically) this season.

Pepe has been also poor. Doni showed more quality in the Norwich game than Pepe has all season. Hate to say it but I think its true. Been a poor season by Pepe's standards.

The only pro Dalglish argument that I can see is that he is truly sticking with the young squad and has the backing of the owners for a few seasons more. What better (harsh) lesson for a young player to learn than to loose a final. Not many players the age of Spearing, Hernderson and Carroll will have the experience of playing and unfortunatley loosing an FA cup final. A harsh lesson to learn but a valuble one none the less. You can bet if the same game came around next time the experience will improve them greatly.

Here's to next season. Getting rid of the underperformers, singing some quality players and holding our heads up high. There is no such thing as a bad experience. We will be back again lads!

You're right mate. The beer and sadness made me post it in its own thread. Appologies but it helps ease the pain!
