Still think we need two strikers next season myself, thought Suarez played really well today but I am still not convinced he is the answer, does'nt score anywhere near enough. I would say one top-class finisher and maybe one N'gog-type squad player. I think it will be easier for Suarez to score if there is another striker to take the burden off him. As it is now, teams can focus on him because they know he's our main creative outlet and goal threat. So as long as we sign one, he should score a bit more. I don't think he's ever going to be the 30-a-season type that he was in Holland, but as long as someone else is scoring 15-20, he doesn't have to be. 15 league goals is a reasonable target for next year. If he brings his shooting boots, it shouldn't be too difficult. No problem have to agree to disagree on that one, not a fan of Suarez, would sell him tomorrow as I honestly feel he will never score you enough goals over a season but like I say he deserves credit today because he played really well. Agreeing to disagree? What a strange place this forum is when we win. Where are all the personal attacks and petty sniping?! To keep to the topic though, I think whether Suarez scores "enough" goals over a season is relative to his position. If we play him as a center-forward, then no, he hasn't scored enough this season. But if we give him more of a free role, I think he stacks up pretty well against other similarly-situated players - David Silva, Mata, Nasri, VDV, etc. It's tough because this season he's basically been required to play both roles - center-forward and creator - and it's difficult, if not impossible, to do both adequately. Yes, it's a very fashionable term on the forum at the moment, and is used when a poster either realises that the person they're debating with is in fact correct, or when they just don't have an answer. Sometimes "okay, fair enough, you have a point there" is just too difficult to say

imo anyone that would get rid of suarez knows very little about the game. probably just a result driven fan that can't see potential or development. Interesting most Interesting, a person saying someone knows very little about the game with the name kennymuststay, I rest my case...

Kuyt got what was possibly the shortest range hat trick ever in the prem. This must be close to being the longest range from player receiving the ball to goal.

Fantastic hat-trick. 3 brilliant finishes! Hope he can carry that form into next weeks game! Only thing he lacks is consistency!

He's a not a centre forward, he's a second striker/free-roaming striker. With the right partner, i.e. a poacher that would put away the hundreds of chance he creates, we'd be golden. Look at how well he did with Kuyt last year. The hat trick he got against the scum was a result of Suarez running the defense ragged and creating chances. Even if his finishing is inconsistent, his contributions alway provide chances, and he earns lots of penalties. Had we put away all the pks he won for us, we might be a couple places higher in the table.
