Still think we need two strikers next season myself, thought Suarez played really well today but I am still not convinced he is the answer, does'nt score anywhere near enough. I would say one top-class finisher and maybe one N'gog-type squad player. I think it will be easier for Suarez to score if there is another striker to take the burden off him. As it is now, teams can focus on him because they know he's our main creative outlet and goal threat. So as long as we sign one, he should score a bit more. I don't think he's ever going to be the 30-a-season type that he was in Holland, but as long as someone else is scoring 15-20, he doesn't have to be. 15 league goals is a reasonable target for next year. If he brings his shooting boots, it shouldn't be too difficult.

No problem have to agree to disagree on that one, not a fan of Suarez, would sell him tomorrow as I honestly feel he will never score you enough goals over a season but like I say he deserves credit today because he played really well.

imo anyone that would get rid of suarez knows very little about the game. probably just a result driven fan that can't see potential or development.

Agreeing to disagree? What a strange place this forum is when we win. Where are all the personal attacks and petty sniping?! To keep to the topic though, I think whether Suarez scores "enough" goals over a season is relative to his position. If we play him as a center-forward, then no, he hasn't scored enough this season. But if we give him more of a free role, I think he stacks up pretty well against other similarly-situated players - David Silva, Mata, Nasri, VDV, etc. It's tough because this season he's basically been required to play both roles - center-forward and creator - and it's difficult, if not impossible, to do both adequately.

Cheers for the link Bar. Only managed to watch the first half of the game. Just seen the third goal there, incredible stuff! Better than Crouch's volley?

Suarez is the main man but he should not be our main striker, he is more like a silva mata type player.
In answer who could replace Suarez
FALCAO could
we should buy him and partner them together.
I will listen, only if your answer contains wisdom

People who are saying that Suarez cannot be our main goal threat are insane. Lets begin with the numbers: Suarez has 11 goals in 29 appearances, (less than 29 starts) he was banned for 8 games mid-season, something that affects a player mentally and physically, and this is his FIRST FULL SEASON IN ENGLAND!!! Take that with the fact he is playing with Downing, and Henderson, and an oft-injured Gerrard (god bless him) and thats an impressive tally when you consider that Demba Ba has 16 goals 2 from the penalty spot and is playing for Newcastle, is accustomed to playing in the prem, and is with a better team.. That's good for 5th in the prem. I'd argue hes not finished based on how hes playing at the moment. Of the top 5 only Aguero is in his first season, and he plays for an offensive juggernaut....MAN CITY.....personally I'd take Suarez any day over Aguero, give Suarez Dzeko and Balotelli instead of Carroll and and Kuyt, and we're talking about a 25+ goal scorer easily. I mean do people watch Liverpool?!?! Suarez is a great player, and if people dont see that after today's performance, then somethings wrong in the KOP

All I know about that goal is that Gerrard would have killed him if he'd missed (after the game hopefully). SG was in miles of space and certain to be one-on-one with Ruddy given a simple diagonal ball.
