out of contract at the end of the season

Could he be an option for us?

More importantly this is his first real disappointing season as manager

Will be interesting to see how he comes back from this.

Mourinho has already said he would never manage liverpool i wouldnt want him anyway hes been disrespectful to our club over the years Guardiola on the other hand has got barcelona playing the best football in the world atm even with the team hes got its still a great achievement but whether or not he could start from scratch i dont really know

And then to show no loyalty to his club and walk away, leaving them in disarray. Still "greatest manager"? Greatest opportunist, perhaps. A great manager is able to build a side and make it great. Mourinho is mainly good at making an established side capable of one last hurrah.

Mouriniho is a tactical wizard, however in terms of building a team there is no other like Arsen Wenger.

And how much has Maureen spent to become the "greatest manager"? He has been good no doubt but since leaving Porto it is like he has been Playing Championship Manager for real. As much as I dislike old bacon face, Maureen can't be compared to him.

As for Guardiola? We'll only know how good he is when he leaves Barca.

Two different skill sets though isn't it? You bring in Mourninho to make you great within a couple of years, and he does that better than anybody. Perhaps he's not the best long term, but then it's hard to tell, he's not really stayed anywhere that long. I'd prefer that over the opposite, i.e. managers who talk bout 5 or 10 year plans. We've seen that with most of our recent managers, and at the end of the 5 years, it's another 5 years being asked for.

I'd prefer the 3rd type of manager. The one who comes in, makes something happen within a reasonable length of time, provides improvement season-by-season, and then remains loyal to the club.

That would be my preference too, however not many want steady improvement they want instant success, Ive no idea who can come in and provide all of that.
