When FSG took over they marketed themselves as an organisation that engaged with fans and at the time there were various fans forums set up and lots of very engaging talk with fans groups. I have no proof of this but I feel the appointment of Dalglish was very much in this theme at that time. Now we hear very little of this engagement (in fact none at all) just an almost KGB like silence. They appeared last week to embark on a sacking venting exercise only to disappear back to the US missing both the FA cup final and Hillsborough memorial. The reason given was to attend the opening Redsox game. Does that all not sound a little odd to you? Now they are coming back next week for we know not what. It is said these guys have turned up in the UK less times than the despised Gillet and Hicks who had an ongoing hate campaign against them. I find it hard to work out and something is not joining up for me but I cannot put my finger on it.

To me they look like they want to make us winners. They have seen that something is wrong and are trying to fix it, comolli goes and they are trying to bring in someone else who can do a better job.

I would of thought they would of stayed around for the FA Cup Semi and the hillsborough memorial, but they do have strong ties to teh Red Sox, and have had these ties for a lot longer.

I think we all have to remember that they have not been in charge for all that long and have been willing to let a lot of cash be spent, things are not going to end there, they have another transfer window coming up and are preparing for that.

I do accept they have other instituitions to run but Liverpool FC is their newest venture and normally a lot of effort is put into new ventures. Also no disrespect to Redsox but we are a global brand and far bigger. Although if this inactivity carries on for 10 years we won't be. Not comparing them to Gillet and Hicks but it would help if they came over more and interacted and communicated with the fans more. They by all accounts did this with Redsox so why not over here. The fact that they are based in America has no bearing on it whatsoever. Many commercial companies now are global and communications have moved on since we sent telegrams and posted letters.

I thought it odd myself that they didn't turn for the memorial and semi final,Tom Werner is the official chairman of the club,he should have been there in my opinion.I am surprised that they did not appoint there own chief executive/managing director instead of promoting Ian Ayre to that position,I know they had Comolli overseeing the football side of things but they have not put their own man in the business side of things.

I for one am happy that the owners are taking a back seat what would we prefer mike ashley style ownership and sticking his nose into everything?

They have a duty to treat all of their ventures the exact same and as far as I'm concerned, they have.

People moaning about "Why wasn't they at the semi-final, they went back to US for baseball blah blah blah"

Listen, did they or did they not attend Liverpool's first game of the season? What's the difference?

They've been to Anfield plenty of times, more than some owners of other clubs. I think they're doing a smashing job, especially with the distance between both countries.

I'm a bit peeved with them not being at Hillsborough though, however perhaps they think that the day should be for the families, the local area and the supporters. Perhaps they feel that if they come over for that day, it would divert the attention on them the owners, and it should never ever be about that on April 15th.

At first I was angered by it, but you know what, I think they done it out of respect and morals. Personally if all the focus is going to be on them, on that day, I'd prefer them not to come over for it. It's for the 96 and their families, not an event to gain popularity for the owners.

I agree with you on that Craney. I don't see any reason to criticise fsg.

.They invested around 40 million into the club just on player sales.
.Let Kenny spent all the money made from player sales. 70 odd million.
.Let Kenny spend on whoever he wanted to.
.Have been quick in dismissing those they thought were not performing.
.Turn up to a large number of games.
.Have done a large number of interviews regarding the direction of Liverpool.
.Appear to be committed to doing with us, what they did with the Red Sox.

It doesn't bother me that they didn't turn up to the memorial service. I think think that is a day for those that have that day deeply ingrained into their heart, maybe it would have been classier to have appeared. But these men are busier than all of us put together. I don't think any less of them for not appearing.

Craney they don't have a duty to treat all ventures the same no business does that. If you had a group of two companies one turned over £5m and one £100m would you allocate your time equally? As for Hillborough I do see your point about it being for the families but that could be taken two ways had they attended it might have shown respect Tom Werner is after all the chairman. At the end of the day though Liverpool is a sleeping giant and as far as I am concerned its still snoozing away. I want action I want progression your positive words are just that WORDS. Not good enough I am afraid. And there is something not joining up for me I would expect them to be much more setting the tone for the club. That is not the same as inteferring day to day.

Tell me more ! what direction is that I must have missed it but I am desperate to find out.

we have yet to see whether they are just a steady hand on the tiller or have real driving ambition to move us forward. The scenario over the next few months is set for them to kick into gear and offer real progress. I admire them for not making grand statements and slowly putting back the broken pieces of the club, we are certainly more stable. However sooner rather than later they will need to address the stadium issue because fundamentally we can buy smart and bring through as many gems as you like but the club to really compete needs to have a stadium fit to represent it's ambitions.
