Match: Liverpool vs Newcastle
Goal: Bergkamp vs Newcastle
Celebration: Cantona
Save: Schmeical
Schmeichal
Neville Campbell Adams Ashley Cole
Beckham Gerrard Keane Giggs
Henry Cantona
But I hated to leave out Bergkamp, Scholes, Ronaldo, and Carra from the players. And I hated to include Neville and Cole in anything other than a list of World's Biggest Tw*ts - but they have no real competitors. And Bergkamp's goal is neck-and-neck with Henry and Cantona's for me. Cantona's and Bergkamp's both take absolutely outrageous amounts of skill and the most delicate touch. Agreed. I went for Di Canio's goal with Bergkamp at a close second. The reason I picked Di Canio's is because the technique is out of this world.

Which makes me wonder why they didn't include RVP's goal v. Everton this year. Somewhat similar volleys. I chose Bergkamp's because there seemed to have been a lot of thought behind it. There was an article in The Blizzard a few months back (maybe Issue Zero or One, can't quite recall) where they had an interview with Bergkamp and he was describing how he executed the goal. I was just blown away by the thought process behind it. It certainly wasn't just one of those hit-and-hope types (like Yeboah's, which I always felt was overrated, or Crouch's volley against City). I remember in the interview that Bergkamp said that he noticed that Dabizas' knees were bent, which would have made it difficult to turn, so Bergkamp made the decision to turn him based on that little detail that most players wouldn't even notice or think twice about. Incredible.

About half of the people so far have said Hyypia, and he wasn't even an option! If he had've been an option I'd definitely have picked him myself. Can't believe he isn't there, yet Stam, Desailly & Vidic are.
