I`m far from John Terrys biggest fan but at least he was honest in his interview , had i been playing for Chelsea i would definitely have been claiming a goal , afterall the officials should have spotted something so obvious.

Felt quite a deep feeling of sorrow for the Spuds after that almost unbelievable calamatous error, and felt that apart from a 15 minute surge, their heads dropped, and they suddenly collapsed when they realised the clock was no longer in their favour.

If that'd been us, I'd have been almost suicidal. mad

What else would they do? go over to the ref and say it was not over the line? at least John Terry was honest in the post match interview and said he did not think it was over the line instead of the answer they normally give - I did not see it. The modern game is so fast refs will always make these mistakes if it happened in 1972 it would not even have been televised never mind shown from 50 angles and computer projected. The answer is obvious referee’s need some support its too hard for one man to spot just with his eyes / senses.

Honesty my ar5e!! If you get chance to watch the game again, Pay paticular attention to the scene after the goal was wasn't scored. There was a Spuds player questioning the Ref, when Terry comes into the shot and starts telling the player it was a goal infront of the ref.

Be honest what would Liverpool do in that situation. The only player who was ever honest was Robby Fowler against I think Aresnal away when he went up to the ref and told him it was not a penalty. I respected him massively for that. But he is the only player I have every heard of doing that.

Don't remember that.
What happened? Did the ref blow for a peno and then decide against it on 'Gods' say so? shocked

As I seem to remember it, Fowler pointed to the spot where he was going to put it, the keeper saved it and I think it was Mcateer put in the rebound??

At the end of the day, we've been calling for goal-line technology for years.

There are no negatives in giving the ref a look at a replay, it takes 5 seconds, 10 max to decide the right decision.

I understand people that say, "well, if you bring this in, football won't be the same, we won't have anything to talk about"

It's not like your gonna get a "was it, or wasn't it a goal" hundreds of times in one game. They happen, but they don't all happen in one game.

It should have been brought in years and years ago, when it was available....and they haven't.

I honestly feel, if it happens again, no matter what the game being played or for is. Get the team to walk of the pitch and refuse to play the game.

They'll soon introduce it then, when people take a stand against playing the football match.

If I was the ref today, I'd have sent of Cech and still awarded the goal. He took Adebayor out, end of. It's a red. If the ball falls to someone else and they score, so what. The goal stands. The punishment remains.

If a player headbutts another on the pitch, and the ref see's it. But the ball is in play, and he allows the game to play on until the ball is dead. He'll send that player of when the move has died.

What's the difference?
