From that other thread that was just locked: Well the "feel good" factor that the club has had over the last couple of days has just been washed away. The timing of this could NOT have been worse!!! Why sack him now?! Why not after this game, because we have plenty on our plate!! ARRGGGGHHHH!!! This is unbelievable!!
WLTK, I think you may possibly be the only one really angry with this decision. I wasn't exactly baying for his blood, but I'm not sad to see him go. Someone had to be help accountable, and whether or not Kenny also pays with his job, Comolli certainly had to. I'd have been very troubled if Kenny had been sacked and Comolli had kept his job. ??? I'm not sure why the above has been attributed to me - I never said any of that! has my account been hacked or have you misquoted me? Whoops, did I forget to change the username from the quote? Sorry, my bad!

My way of looking at it is that Comoili was sacked for overspending on players Kenny and the board agreed on. Be them mediocre or not, the fees were not justifible, therefore there was no more money to buy on top talents.
Clearly Kenny wont be sacked because of his history with the club, and he shouldnt, but come summer he should walk away with his head held high as he did point us into the right direction

Honestly don't think he got the sack for not buying the right players, cause the timing of the sacking is a bit random in the build up to the summer when he was the head scout so....
Upcoming world class players IMO for 2014 WORLD CUP: K-P Boateng, Gotze, Sturridge, Kroos, Lucas Leiva, Hummels, Kyriakos Papadopoulos,

I don't think this shows FSG "have balls" at all. It's a very easy decision to make, considering Comolli has no ties or history with the club......I think the owners would show balls, if they moved on Kenny for instance......
I'm starting to think that "Comolli's left by mutual consent" is genuine. Perhaps he does have stuff to care of back in France, we don't know the mans personal life.
I don't think FSG planned this, I think if anything, they'd be planning for a new manager if Kenny steps aside. But Comolli was there man, you know what I mean? He was put there by them, with their strategy and to enforce it.
I honestly feel if this didn't happen today and Comolli stayed, they would have still been looking for a manager to come in and work with Comolli. I think it's caught FSG "off-guard" abit, but they already have someone lined up.
If its David Dein. You can't go wrong. What an addition to the football club that would be!
It's all well and good Ian Ayre telling the owners "he'll find naming rights for a new stadium" THEY ARE JUST WORDS. David Dein would make sure he does and get the ball rolling.
Personally, I'd do away with Ian Ayre, bring David Dein in to basically do, Ayres job and Comolli's.
I don't think there is a better "backroom man" who works so well with the manager and the club in football, than Dein.
Just cast your mind back to what he done for Arsenal the club and Wenger the manager.
I think Wenger would take him back in a instant if he had a say in it. Dein get's involved, but doesn't....if you know what I mean....the manager feels safe and supported.
Whether that be Dalglish stays, or another manager being brought in.
Dein should be an absolute must for FSG. A MUST.

Anything above that is pure speculation, maybe a leak or two over the coming weeks will enlighten us but again that could be just hearsay and speculation. The sad thing is for 3yrs now the club keeps stumbling into more and more turmoil with ridiculous timing. With others now baying for Kennys blood the circus will never end, the fact is as a whole the club is in good shape and this kind of news could have been buried in May when the media will all be scrambling for England manager stories. Not now with a cup semi to play, I stuggle to see the benefit of todays announcement.

Where did this Dein rumor come from? I can't seem to find anything about it in the usual media outlets.

i dont think comolli is taking the fall for our poor season, but its just the first stage in clearing out the dead weights in the club. the statement kenny made about being responsible for all the signings i believe is true, the price paid for them on the other hand i believe is comolli's doing. I remember an interview where it was mention that comolli wanted young and kenny wanted downing and we all saw which player we ended up with. i never want anyone to lose their job but, this somewhat of a feel good factor that atleast a step is made in the right direction cause even though we expect them to leave in the summer it was nerve wrecking watching the matches and wondering if the owners will do anything come the end of the season. i think kenny is next as for the players whatever manager comes in next would decide who's capable of working with so i dont see adam and andy being there very long downing and hendo might get a chance.
