He'll be out for around 3 weeks. Hopefully he'll miss only the Portsmouth game and be ready against Man City or Real Madrid...

STEVEN GERRARD INJURY UPDATE

Liverpool Football Club today confirmed Steven Gerrard suffered a tear to his left hamstring during Wednesday night's FA Cup defeat at Everton.
Gerrard limped out of the action just sixteen minutes into the fourth round replay at Goodison and now faces three weeks on the sidelines.

A club spokesman told Liverpoolfc.tv: "A scan today has confirmed a tear in the hamstring of Steven's left leg. He will be out of action for about three weeks."

I hope that Babel and Ngog have more chances to impress in the upcoming weeks. atleast one of them must start alongside Torres.

the way I see it, if we don't have Gerrard on the pitch, then no one should play in the "free role" that Gerrard plays. we should play either 442 or 433, but I prefer the latter as it gives the wingers more freedom.

I'm sure Benayoun can do the business in the free role...

we are not truly screwed without Gerrard - he's a key player for sure but you have to remember they outplayed the mancs and won without Gerrard and Torres - it's time for the team to step up to the plate and raise their game.
these things can sometimes work out for the best - Gerrard having a forced 3 week's rest may be a blessing for the rest of the season.
As for missing Keane... how can they if he's been missing in most games he's played in anyway - don't get me wrong, I rate Keane and think he's a top lad. He gave his all for the team but it didn't work out. So I can't see us missing him.

Totally agree with you 4ever-reddy.In fact I would have been happy if Gerrard and Torres had been rested for the cup game knowing the way the opposition play. Were they Wimbledon/Stoke in disguise?

Very Negative, the team can play without Stevie G although his influence will be missed as for Dirk let's encourage rather than be a critic, Torres needs to get his fitness up and start putting the ball away. grin grin
