Bit of a pointless article from John Aldridge I think. Doesn't really say anything that isn't obvious to everyone, primarily that there's something wrong and the something needs to be done about it.

I don't agree that it's a crisis. It's a major setback but nothing more than that at this stage - unless we think relegation is on the cards.

The problem with going on about a so-called crisis is that it causes people to panic and write hysterically with end of the world type headlines. But that's perhaps why the people who do react that way are just ordinary supporters or media men, so called 'pundits', as opposed to say being chief executives of large organisations.

I've just had a quick browse and notice that Aldridge's statements are now being repeated in a wide range of national publications - which is only going to hurt the club more and pile the pressure on the players. Totally self-defeating. Dad's Army style - 'don't panic!'... and of course the daft one's start to panic.

Yes, we get stick from our mates who support other teams but it shouldn't embarass us over and above that. It's a sport and it happens. Success will be all the more sweeter when we face the challenge and overcome it.

Others may laugh at us and label us as a laughing stock - (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/...stle-liverpool.

But that really is just childish and opportunism... taking a dig after all that we've achieved. Most of the fans laughing at us can only dream of the experiences we've had with LFC. If they want to laugh that's up to them - we should be strong enough to let it ride over us.

Just read the telegraph write up of Aldridge's words and it did annoy me - Aldridge is an idiot. Who needs enemies with 'friends' like this?

We need some key player additions... and there is no need to give up on all our transfers from last season. Downing, Enrique, and Bellamy can play a part... and Carroll and Hendo are young players in their first season at a big club. FSG will have been watching this season and they will have learned from the mistakes made.

So.....what are the main lessons do you think FSG have learn't?

Stanley, I think he is using the term embarrassed from a footballing point of view more than anything else, we are a laughing stock mate I come from the City and even the toffs are taking the p1ss out of us which says it all really, what makes it even worse Gary Neville on the telly is feeling sorry and pitying us rather than having a pop, this tells me it's bad. Just one thing I cant stand John Aldridge as there are far too many people on the Liverpool gravy train thses days and he's one of them.

Well done Aldo!

At least theres one ex-lfc player willing to say what he thinks unlike Lawrenson who stated yesterday on the beeb "1 or 2 fans might want Kenny out"

I can imagine all the calls from Kennys mates to Aldo for breaking ranks though!
