Someone on the BBC said earlier that teh whole newcastle team cost 15m less than we paid for andy carroll?!! We should thrash them then surely?

Well BBC got their facts wrong...that is categorically untrue. Point still stands though, big money flops compared to tight budget smart buying.

i don't think it's down to money and i think neither do you.if that is the case man shitty and the scum would be soaring in europe.i heard that stat today and everyone is having a right laugh.they mention ac due to his geordie connections but what about downing and henderson about the same value as nufc.i think newcastle buckled down and worked for each other we on the other hand have lacked cohesion confidence and a clinical edge.i have read many of your posts and you seem to be level headed do you with our current form will go to st james' and get a win.carroll can't handle the pressure of normal games what will he be like back home in front of his mates.he has already stated he won't celebrate if he scores...a bit presumptious methinks.anyway i'll be roaring my support as always despite what i say on these forums because they're mine.ynwa

What is all this crap I am reading this afternoon that Carroll won't celebrate if he scores??? Some may call it respectful to his old club but what about the club that paid £35m for him and the manager, players, fans he has let down all season!? Of course, it is highly unlikely he will score anyway but if he does I expect to him to celebrate for the club that pays him!

He'll get a hatrick tomorrow! Probably won't but I'd love it if he did cos it would shut a lot of people up (well for about three minutes anyway!)

don't agree i'm afraid.newcastle have been a pretty tight unit this season.mind you kenny did make his job easier in that he knew he had 35million to play with.also their best/most inspiring player was got on a free and he was away for the african nations.so i'm afraid i'd have to say pardews team deserve to be above us.if you wanted to argue that kenny makes pardew look good you could say if we hadn't hit the post 21 times or suarez wasn't missing for 9 games or our best player has been missing for most of the season but i think we all know this to be a silly argument.what is not what if

He won't score. He looks foolish saying that with his mighty 3 goals this season.

Yeah, Carroll has played exactly 1.520 minutes in EPL this year and has scored 3 times.

1.520 / 3 = 507 minutes between his goals on average. That means he scores 1 for every 17 games played. OK he hasn't featured in all our 31 games, but in 28 of them!

Horrible stats!
