Heard an interesting piece on radio yesterday.
They where talking about if Kenny was doing an amazing job, would be all good, and if Kenny was doing a dreadful job it would be easy to sack him. However it would be difficult to sack him for doing an average job(carling cup, decent FA cup run and shocking in league for example) due to his status at the club- also respect from the players!
I didn't want Kenny appointed in the first place, now he's in post I was all for giving him a chance, I really don't believe in chopping and changing managers. Having said that, Even for the extreme optimist it's too much. I've had enough now..

another thread about pretty much the same topic? you'll be lucky if this isn't locked pronto.

Nobody wants to see managers come and go, but how can you build for the long term with an old manager? Dalglish should be managing Scotland, his last job before retirement, not trying to build a club to compete with the european elite for the next decade.
If you call for his replacement, then you must have an alternative, you either go foreign or you give an opportunity to a young manager and hope that with time and some investment he can at least make to club competitive at the top of the Prem.
I have watched Paul Lambert over the last 3 years firstly at Colchester and now at Norwich, he has something, his record speaks for itself, but its his ability to extract the best out of the players he has which is most evident.
I don't believe FSG will be providing unlimited funds this summer especially with no CL money, so we at least need someone who can get the best out of what we have, Dalglish has failed this season to do this and will fail next despite our domestic cup runs.

not a bad post willie. it doesnt look like dalglish is going to roll us on to greatness, it was always an outside chance anyway. if he was to step down in the summer i think he has absolutely done enough to warrant a lot of thanks. not from the ignorant abusers on here but from the people who can see past their nose which i believe to be most fans for stabalising the club and bringing us the first trophy in 6 years, with maybe another to come. if we cant find the right man to replace dalglish i believe he should stay in place.
(just keep in mind there is unrest at anfield, and it may not be because of dalglish, it could also be because of comolli, or something to do with the owners)
i think paul lambart has done an amazing job. but there is a counter arguement that says getting the most out of a team of players like norwich in the PL that have little expectation and little to prove is an entirely different proposition to getting the most out of big salary players with an immense amount of expectation. is he up to the task? no one really knows. its a big risk. can we afford a big learning curve for a manager and it possibly not working out?

I agree flames. I think we have seen with a lot of signings this year that they were big fish in small ponds and can't make the step up, in fact in trying to they go drasticly backwards. I fear the same is true for many managers. Personally, and obviously this is just my own opinion, I think paul lambart would be a ludicrous choice as manager. We have seen many mangers/teams/players light up the PL for a season or even two then disappear, Lambart quite clearly is no where near Liverpool calibre just yet. I actually don't think he's even worth talking about.
There are managers that have done well, pardew etc, but is Suarez, Gerrard, etc going to step up their game and believe if they hear a manager like this is coming in? No. Football is a lot about mentality, and if we are to get rid of Kenny, it has to be for someone who creates a real buzz of excitement around the club, someone who will bring a bit of flair creativity something different. I don't even think they need enormous pedigree (a bit sure would help) but someone who could really shift the mood of the players into believing again. And the only way we are gonna get that is by looking abroad.

If we want to say paul lambert is a good manager who can extract the best out of players, then alan pardew would be an even better manager based on that argument. Look at barcodes and how they're flying with 'crap' players.

mate I will leave it to others to champion lambert or rodgers or oneill, (I personally like rodgers). BUT I DON'T WANT ANOTHER BRITISH MANAGER NEXT SEASON.
if we do I prefer rodgers.
I hope we push the boat out and get Loew or even better, ancelotti (I know I am dreaming with this one)
