Some of the others i may agree with but that just pure fantasy only in football manager moment

I really don't believe top players look at last years league table before deciding who to join. It seems only City/Utd are gauranteed CL football each year, and I don't think the others have that big a pull. We still have some class players, history, investement etc.. and I dont think all the top players just jump ship as soon as you don't qualify for the CL

The really top players, playing for Europe's biggest clubs, probably wouldn't join us, but there must be a few dream teams that can be made up of the rest. To say we should be looking at relegated teams to make up a squad is just ridiculous.
It's make or break time I expect and we should be as ambitious as possible in the transfer market. I've always backed KD but I imagine the owners would back a new manager more £ wise.

I would take Hoilett for sure. That's about it though.

Can't imagine we'll sell that many players. I wouldn't mind seeing another clear out inc. Adam & Carrol, if we get half decent money. I'd take anything for Adam, he'd probably do the business at a mid-table team.

Maybe I am hoping a bit with Cavani but if Suarez and Coates have been having a chat with him then it would be easier for him to settle here than Chelsea for example.

My point is there are plenty of top European players that we can look to sign instead of average British players.

I don't even need to mention player names but if we looked at players from Napoli, Udinese, Lyon, Ajax, PSV, Sporting Lisbon, Shakhtar, I would fancy our chances at taking players from these clubs!!!

Said this before. If players only want to come for Champions League football then their priorities are different to that of the club as the club wants to win the Prem league title as number one objective. We don't want players jumping on the bandwagon just because we are there. We want them to help us to get there and take it on from that point. Those that don't want that need not even bother thinking of coming.

So would I because these guys are playing at clubs that are not always top of their leagues anyway. Cavani (or an out and out goalscorer of similar ability) may be all we need.

Perhaps the only other player we would need is a Luis Garcia/Ludovic Giuly (in their prime) type player. Lucas comes back into the side and Agger. Move Johnson to right wing ahead of Kelly behind him at RB and keep Adam a 100 miles away from the bench and we would not be far short at that point. There is nothing wrong with the defence really if you look at the number of goals we normally concede.

A goalscoring flair midfielder to fit on the right as Downing can easily do a job for us on the left!

The obvious choice is Hazard but Gotze and either of the Bilbao wingers shouldn't be ruled out...

Out and out goal-scorer like Soldado, Lisandro Lopez, Falcao, etc. All of these are realistic in my eyes!

Why would all the Bilbao players want Champions League football when they have never experienced it before?

Money talks when it comes to footballers, most of the transfers over the last few years prove this! We need to make serious offers to our top targets, offers they can't refuse financially! Then we'll see if the Champions football attraction really counts.

Hello everyone i have been reading your posts and had to respond. Everyone on here is saying we can't attract big name players or the players we need to compete at the highest level in the EPL. I also hear a lot of people talking about Downing,Adam,Hendo being all we could atrract, to be honest i don't think thats true, i think KD wanted these players he could have went out for foreign players but wanted to bring back the old liverpool ways, which this year has failed. All 3 of those players for me all had a poor season and never really improved.

Going back to transfers i think that KD Comolli can come out in interviews and say whatever they want in the end the team is not good enough and i do really think they know that, and they would never come out and say that our squad isn't good enough who would do that? Anyone here would do the same that does not mean we wont be signing anyone this summer. I also really believe we will be signing at least 2 players, now do i know who they are? NO i'm hoping they improve our squad.

Getting back to people saying WE NEED champions league football to attract big players, to a certain extent your are right, i mean which top player doesn't want to play at the highest level, but what you are forgetting is a team like Chelsea mite not make the Champions league as well, does that mean that no player would want to play for Chelski just for missing out on the CL? I think thats a load of rubbish and they will sign big name players like they always do. The football world has to know that the EPL is getting harder and harder to make top 4, that being said i think this season was unacceptable and a failure, even if we win to FA Cup and spent a load of money. Lets just hope this summer is a good one and we get players that can finally help us out, is KD and Comolli the men to do it? Im not sure i have faith because Comolli does have experience, it was always going to take time to get back to the top, at this point all we can do is hope! But i think its [oops] to say we can't get top players and should be buying El habsi? or Mark davies COME ONNNNNNN
