pepe reina is still a good keeper , but either he has gone a bit stale at liverpool or he is just on the slide a bit as he hasnt been as good as he has been in recent years still god but not great .
`the only reason reina is looking this bad is because the games he makes major mistakes in we come out on the loosing end most teams get GK mistake issues but most team out score the other and win degea is no where near pepe but hes not being pressured because man u is winning the only time degea is blamed is if they come up on the losing end. If the squad was competing at a higher level and more consistent like previous season you would see the quality of the players creeping back in but instead its become acceptable for mistakes and mischances then blame it on luck.
look at reina these 3 years, he wasnt good at crosses and the most importance, was he even not attempted to react in his area of control. He never had a save on penalty. He made mistakes on many catchings. So, he been quality but gone.
I'm one of those losing faith in Pepe, Doesn't look half the player he was 3 years ago. He's more worried about whirlwind clearances than saving relativley easy shots. Needs a really good No.2 keeper to put pressure on him.
Reina is a top notch keeper, that is without question. He is just shaky lately on crosses and set pieces. He needs to command his box a lil bit more when those crosses come in...getting beat in the five hole must be embarrassing for him too.
Brad Jones was a Hodgson signing so I can understand that not making any sense....
However why bring Doni in if he won't even get a chance in the Cup games? This guy was first choice for Roma a few seasons back... If he isn't good enough to be cosidered when Reina is under-performing why the hell did we sign him?
